We were a family of six, from 20yrs to 60yrs. The large house was perfect for our needs, with plenty of space for us all, including a desk area for my daughter to use to teach online. The air-conditioning was wonderful in the bedrooms, but personally, being someone who suffers in the heat, I would have liked to have an extra air-conditioning unit downstairs, but it was manageable with the fan. The house itself is cooler than many though, as there are lots of trees, giving a lovely shaded area on the balcony and patio. The three bathrooms were useful with so many of us. One of these was located upstairs, on the outdoor balcony. The pool was wonderful, and relatively quiet, and we often had it to ourselves. The house was in a quiet area, but with just three minutes walk to the main road, which delighted our 20yr old, who would wander up there, and walk another three minutes up to the beach, or hail a songthaiew (Thai shared open back taxi), or motorbike taxi from grab app (cheaper than a regular taxi), to anywhere around the island. The grounds were very well kept, with a gardener on site every day. Nhing was also on site every day, and very helpful, and she did a wonderful cleaning job once a week. We had an occasion where we lost power and had to call Ann at 11pm, and even then she had someone there almost immediately. I had been unwell at the airport on our way out, and my husband and I had to fly two days later than planned. I messaged Sikarin and he arranged to have our adult children picked up from the airport and help them on arrival to the house, and offered to have us picked up two days later. He also informed us of a nurse next door if we needed any assistance during our stay. My son has severe food allergies, and Sikarin helped us with translating an allergy form to carry with us to restaraunts. He also recommended restaurants. We ate at many restaurants around the island, but mostly at Kai's at the end of the road.

It's difficult to write what we didn't like, as we loved it all! Perhaps if I had to pick an improvement that would be useful it would be to have an air-conditioning unit by the long table at the end of the kitchen. We gathered here a lot and I'm not great with the heat, but the big fan provided definitely helped. There is an air-conditioning unit in the lounge are, but it is a large area downstairs, and difficult to keep cool with one unit. I have to say though, that even with my inability to cope with the heat well, we absolutely loved it here!

It was quite spacious , comfortable house perfect for family stay, location was good, beach walking distance , quite peaceful. Even Kitchen has all modern amenities, felt like home.

Everything was great! However, adding more lighting would be beneficial, as cooking at night is a bit challenging due to the low light.

The pool - although it is shared and not very clean The pool table Spacious Nice furniture AC in bedrooms was good Good location

There is construction work in the garden so we were unable to use the garden during our stay. We were only informed of this after querying it a week before our stay as we saw a previous negative review. By then it was too late to cancel as the booking was non refundable. The photos are clearly photoshopped as the reality is quite different! The house is in desperate need of some maintenance, for example there are lots of broken tiles, holes in the floor, leaks etc. The cleanliness is not up to expectations, for example cockroaches in kitchen, dead insects in rooms/bathrooms, duvets were yellow from stains. The lighting needs improving as it is very dark and dreary inside. The owner was responsive up until we told him the accommodation wasn’t up to expectations and then he never replied to our message and has refused (through booking.com) to offer any compensation.

Really enjoyed our 4 week stay here. The place is lovely, spacious, tidy, just as described. Check in was easy with clear instructions from the owner. The pool was fantastic kids swam every single day, the american style pool table was great, the lawns etc were maintained daily by a hardworking team, weekly cleaning etc was great and the lady manager was amazing and on site daily to help with any questions. Overall it's a lovely style house, great AC, great pool and we hope to be back again next year.

There are not any negatives that impacted our stay.

I had a fantastic stay here with my family, we loved having a large Thai house and garden all to ourselves for a few days. The house is old but very comfortable with modern TV set up and air conditioning. The location is great, 2 mins walk to the main road in Maenam. Communication with our host, Sikarin was excellent and the housekeeper and gardener do a great job. The shared swimming pool is small but nice to have it in the garden and it was a real bonus to find a pool table in the house, I didn't see that in the photos. Overall, I would highly recommend this house.

It's a rare chance to be able to stay in a historic colonial mansion. We had a fantastic time. Yes, the house is older, but it's very well maintained, making the age of the house an exciting experience and not a negative thing. And when there is a need for maintenance, the hosts are on top of it. Full kitchen, three bathrooms, washing machine, A/C in all rooms, swimming pool, huge smart tv and even a pool table. The vintage furniture only added to the positive experience. Nhing is awesome, hardworking and skilled in just about anything that needs to be done. And after she does housekeeping it's like walking into a new jouse again. Oh, yes, there's weekly housekeeping, new towels, bedding, cleaning - amazing. We absolutely loved our three weeks at Baan Khun Nang.

Older beautiful villa with a huge garden and a new pool. Ideal for a big family or group of friends. Great location, close to the beach, restaurants and shops. The big house has a great clima and AC was not needed during the nights, with windows open. The garden is home to a lot of birds and squirrels that play in the trees. For a bigger group its great value for a small price. I highly recommend. Special thanks goes to the host - Sikarin, who was always there to help and support.
