Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe only downside was the noise from the road, which is busy until late and traffic gets noisy earlier in the morning. However, I am a light sleeper, and this wouldn't necessarily be an issue for everyone.
Our host, Faye, was the friendliest host we've had yet on our journey through Thailand. Having arrived at 6am, she kindly gave us the front door code so that we could drop off our bags and rest. Upon her arrival at 9am, she immediately gave us fresh fruit from her garden and went up to clean our room for us. Throughout our stay Fay was super friendly, chatty, and helpful in assisting our planning of things to do and see. Our private room was huge! So much space, including a desk and chair suitable for working if needed. Great location just across the south moat of the main town. Great value for money.

IrelandEven though the private room was on the 2nd floor and earplugs were provided. The noise of the traffic was unbearable. Almost 24 hours of the day. Tried a few times to book trips thru the hostel. But there was never anyone around!
Location was fantastic. Close to everything. Faye was a more than welcoming host.

GermanyThe noise from the street. Although the host acknowledged it and it is the next thing to be fixed ones budget allows for it, you should bring ear plugs of some kind of you're a light sleeper. My gf slept through it all but I got woken up by some cars honking.
The location is great ans the hair is super awesome. Young guy who just started this place but is super duper welcoming and helpful.

GreeceThe walls were made of paper. Honestly, I was on the 3rd floor, all windows closed and I could hear every single car, motorbike, truck to the extent that I was unable to sleep through the night. I would wake up every night every 1-2 hours from the extremely loud noise coming from the street. It felt as if I was actually sleeping in a tent on the sidewalk. During my trip in Thailand I stayed in more central areas on the ground floor, but I've never experienced such inconvenience. There was absolutely no sound insulation in the room. Think about it very seriously if you're interested in booking it, it's definitely not worth it.
The accommodation was close to a night market and there are a couple of restaurants around. It's on the borders of the city center, so you can basically walk everywhere in the old town. I didn't need to take a taxi even once. The WiFi connection was very strong and stable, high speed internet, which was ideal for me that I worked during my stay there. There is a very comfortable, brand new chair in front of the desk (which is also very big).

CanadaBeds were extremely hard! There isn't any lift & the stairs are steep No staff on site for any assistance It was very confusing getting in the room as we didn't realize the door slid open! 1 toilet had to have the water turned off due to a leak. There was only a thick comforter, so either you were hot or cold. Nothing special about this hostel. Not so nice outside, but was ok.
Nice showers with hot water Location was less than 2 blocks to City Gate & a fantastic nightly food market. The weekend market is about 2 blocks as well. Spotlessly clean Easy to get in & out Quiet Good internet

TaiwanWhile this place is good, I do not recommend it for those extremely sensitive to noise during sleep. Despite providing earplugs, you can still hear the noise from traffic to some extent.
I had a great 18 days stay at this hostel near Tha Phae Gate in Chiang Mai. The place is quite clean, and the location made it easy to explore this old city. What made the experience truly amazing was the outstanding service from Faye, the receptionist/tour explanation/housekeeper. She was incredibly friendly and do her best to ensure I didn't miss out on great local food and activities. I recommend this place for its cleanliness, convenience, and the outstanding hospitality provided by Faye. My time here was made good by her thoughtful assistance.

Malaysia1. Some hooks in room and bathroom would be nice. 2. At least 6 clothes hangers in room instead of three. 3. Universal power sockets so we don't need to use adapters. Just change the face plates. 4. Use lemon grass, dried flowers or natural plants for fragrance instead of spending money on ambi pur fragrance.
New & clean facilities, about 5 min walk to Chiangmai gate. Market, shops, food, 7-eleven, Lotus, night market, etc, all at local prices. Good location across the road outsite Chiangmai gate. Faye, the girl running the place is pleasant and helpful. She can book tours for you at a discount and book a cheap car ride back to the airport. Contact her via WhatsApp. Our studio room was big, comfortable with powerful air Cond. Towels and linen were new and clean, good quality. No free bottled water, but you can have free coffee and tea at reception. No ensuite bathroom, but shared bathroom outside just a few steps away and very clean. I like the desk and chair provided to do some work. Room has floor to ceiling window, with curtain, where you can look outside at the streets and surrounding.

United StatesApivoyage is located right across the moat from the Chiang Mai gate, so traffic circling the old town square is adventurous and crossing the street, a game of chicken.
The hostess/receptionist, Faye, was top notch. Climbed the stairs with me to the dorm room, pointed out a/c remote features, master room switch, private bathrooms, keyless electronic exit/entry and free coffee. A delightful young woman with enthusiasm for the hospitality business. The hostel is relatively new so the linen was white &crisp, the bed comfortable, toilets/showers clean, hot water and cold a/c, what else can you ask for in a hostel?

United KingdomNew hostel so not many people there, it would be great if they provided free drinking water. Noise from the main road can be heard but it didn’t bother us at all (they also provide free earplugs).
Great location just outside the square! Faye is so lovely constantly suggesting activities to do, both free sightseeing spots and tours that you can book with her. Room was spacious, bed was comfy and everything was clean. You can book tours and transport with them at a good discounted price. They let us store our bags when we did an overnight trek even though we weren’t returning to the hostel for another night.
