Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

My room was lovely and extremely comfortable. I had a very nice little seating area outside my room near lots of plants. Very generous with toiletries, daily fresh water supply and a big water container outside for refills or hot water. The family are very kind and friendly and go out of their way to help you. I would definitely recommend Aphilapa Residence and will certainly stay here again if in Chiang Mai. Great location, walking distance to main cultural and historical places of interest. Great coffee shop and delicious restaurant 2 minutes away and lots of others nearby too.

Everything was clean and the host was very responsive and kind. TV had Netflix and other streaming services and the host allowed me drop my bags as I had a late flight.

Not very much not to like. I would've liked to have a chair and desk but I knew in advance I would not. The refrigerator could've worked a little bit better.
The property is conveniently located off one of the main roads, sheltering it from any noise or disturbance. The accommodation is incredibly clean and the wooden floors really give it a luxury feeling as well. The quality of the interior is high-end. The air conditioner is 100% functional.

The property was perfectly located, the room was clean and tidied during the day, there was complimentary water which I really appreciated, and the staff were absolutely lovely and helped me store my bags after check out. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when I come back to Chiang Mai!

Regular rooms are on the smaller side. We got the larger family room which is basically two rooms
Nice small hotel in the old part of Chiang Mai. Location is very walkable to the Wats and food options. Rooms were neat and clean. Service was excellent, they even remembered my birthday! Good value for money. Laundry on site is very convenient Loved the water cooler outside with hot and cold water.

It’s a wonderful and clean place to stay but the hot water in the bathroom is very little. Kwan is so kind and always willing to help. The location is easy to go anywhere in the old town.

The room is not so big, so there is no place to put your clothes, but if you are here for a short stay, this shouldn't be an issue
The staff is very welcoming and ready to make your stay as good as possible, location is very good, near coffee shops and restaurants and also very quiet at night for a good sleep, room is cleaned every day.

The best - Kwan! She welcomed us ( by name) when we arrived and she continued to be so helpful throughout our time here. We also loved the way the hotel is nestled back off the busy street. We were provided water and snacks and support when booking tours, etc..

I absolutely loved staying at Apilapa hotel. It was clean, comfortable, hot showers, laundry service available, and walking distance to great restaurants, coffee show, temples, etc. The hotel is centrally located by also quiet at night which was important to me. Kwan is the host and she was so friendly and helpful! Kwan gave a very warm welcome and helped me book all the tours and provided restaurant recommendations. I highly recommend this hotel!

When we arrived a few guests were smoking cannabis Not pleasant as the smell lingers. Not the owners fault. Just ignorant people.
Suited our needs. Kuan was extremely accommodating as our stay progressed so did the facilities, from cushion for our outside area to laundry basket in our room. Christmas and new year cookies, along with a leaving gift. Thank you we also had a gift of fresh coconut given to us both. Amazing little place and mostly quiet.

Everything was great!
The staff is very friendly, the place is very clean and quiet despite being in the city center. The rooms are cozy, the bed is very comfortable. There are great restaurants nearby recommended by the staff. I highly recommend it!

Second visit to this hotel while training at Bear Fight Club - Kwan and her family are wonderful and generous hosts who put so much love and care into hosting visitors. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Wifi worked well, AC was cold, water for shower was hot. There's a 7-Eleven only 10 minutes walk away, numerous cafes and restaurants nearby, and a 420 dispensary closeby also. If this sounds like a good time, go ahead and book without delay.

Our host, Kwan was super friendly and helpful. Had our room ready to check in early at 11am when we got in early from the night train. Via WhatsApp she was always available to help with recommendations and set up a massage appointment for us with Chinola massage which was very good, professional and good value. She also gave us a complementary Kratong (floating candle) for us to put in the river for the festival. The room was very clean and comfortable. And the hotel was located in a quiet area, but not too far from points of interest.

Cozy family ran hotel, very friendly staff. Great value for the price, location is great. I even receive a cake on my birthday from the owner Kwan, it was a pleasant surprise! I really enjoyed my stay here, and highly recommend it!

I have no hesitation in recommending Apilapa Hotel as I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. First I must comment on how delightful and helpful Kwan and her family are - I felt so comfortable and 'at home' while visiting their hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable with all the amenities (including wifi) working well. The hotel is located in a great area - 5 minute walk to The Bear Fight Club (highly recommend if you're looking for Muay Thai training), 'Chiang Mai 420' (a favorite place to visit), and plenty of cafes and restaurants. The 7-Eleven is about a 10 minute walk, very convenient.
