The property is not within walking distance of town. However the resort runs frequent shuttles (every 10 minutes) as well as a ferry (every 30 minutes). Many local restaurants will also come and pick you up.

This resort has excellent facilities and commands prime position on both the beach and the lagoon. While staying at the Angsana, I visited surrounding resort and found that while the Angsana is older, it has the overall the best combination of features I want: big pool, straddling both the beach and the lagoon, multiple bars and restaurants on site, gym, kayaking equipment and beautiful gardens. Apart from all that, the other outstanding feature is the main building bar, with reflective pool. 10 out of 10 recommended, this resort is suitable whether you are travelling as a couple or whether you are travelling with young children - all will find plenty of activities.

The view of the construction site across the lake. Upon arrival, I checked the AC filter and it was full of mold and dust. The resort manager took care of it immediately with cleaning to AC, and provided an HEPA filter for the living room. So no complaints with the service.

The facilities (pool, restaurant, fitness, kids activities), staff service and attention. And my birthday surprise :)

Thai food is notoriously value for money. Eating out for 3 costs around £30 if you go all out. If you are conservative about your food in the Angsana. Its about £140 so its really not good value for money in that respect.

Location is a bit far and the road leading to the hotel is remote and looks unsafe as we arrived close to midnight. The breakfast buffet lacked variety. Seafood buffet also not worth the price. The seafood were not fresh. Only good thing is the live singing! Would be nice if there is a shuttle to town direct from Hotel.

Big resort with several swimming pools. Minutes from private beach. Low season is very private with few tourists. Very helpful staff.

Food options could be better. Many times at different restaurants there are always items that are on the menu but "not available today" for different reasons. However overall the quality of the food was good.

Rooms and facilities were all really good and clean. Friendly and helpful staff everywhere. Shuttle available to go around Laguna which has multiple hotels and restaurants.

Property Ok

We have stayed here 24 time since 1995. It was very nice. Unfortunately you have developed so much here. Now it’s really bad. No thoughts about environment and local people who are losing their jobs on the beaches. All beach restaurants have disappeared. So sad

The hotel has several restaurants inside (all very good, but way too overpriced even compared to Bang Tao Beach), but does not offer a half-pension option which we would have preferred as it is more simple when travelling with kids. In any case you have plenty of dining option in and outside the hotel. Bang Tao Beach has a long sandy beach, very clean in front of the hotel, however during our stay big waves were quite frequent so it is not particularly suitable if you are not a good swimmer.

Room was spacious and each day perfectly cleaned. Breakfast at the Marketplace was fabulous with a huge variety of choices of local fruits, juices, tea, very good coffee and international and Asian options. A special thanks to June who always welcomed us with a smile and looked out for us providing even with advices regarding moving around in the area. All the staff really does his best to make the stay as pleasant as possible. A special thanks to Fai who welcomed us at the reception and never missed an opportunity to inquire about our stay whenever we met.

The dated and worn down rooms and very poor wifi within the rooms. The wifi outside the room was much better. The doors of the wardrobe and rooms were all creaky and not in good condition. The bathtub in one of the rooms does not drain well and is always ponding. More dining options and variety within the hotel.

First, kudos to the staff at the hotel are all friendly and helpful which made our stay very pleasant. Secondly, the hotel grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. The pools are large and interesting (esp. the lazy pool), especially for families with children. Well-maintained and fully equipped 24-hour gym. Thirdly, the breakfast spread was good and excellent.

Very “tired” one, it’s not 5* but good 3+ hotel, smelly bathroom, mosquitos, very crowded breakfast with the limited selection of not the best food, the beach a bit dirty and also very crowded. Don’t expect to get the service there, very costly restaurants with 0 quality

It took an hour longer than expected to check in we think partially due to a wedding taking place at the same time we stayed, which seemed to take up a lot of staff time.

The staff are amazing and can't do enough for you, being on the beach was great and the pool area is so spacious.The food is also great.
