Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWas unfortunate that they were putting up weather shields that blocked the view of the ocean, as the resort was closing at the end of May for rainy season.
Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Pool was nice. Staff were all very attentive and friendly . Great location Breakfast was great.

United KingdomI was there in low season and it was very quiet, not busy in any restaurants nearby - I imagine in high season it is quite different. If you are uncomfortable with bugs/wildlife, probably not the place for you. A lot of mosquitos, however this was easily fixed with a plug in repellent from 7 eleven. There are monitor lizards that live on the property - they can be noisy at nighttime (bring earplugs!) Rooms and a little shabby and could do with an update.
Good location, beautiful beach. Great place for a massage on the beach. Spacious rooms. Friendly and helpful staff.

Germanyas per other reviews, be aware that the air con is very noisy and could disrupt sleep. You can’t really go without it so would recommend ear plugs as you are also close to the main road
The bunglalow is a great size, wonderful pool area with plenty of sunbeds and deckchairs directly leading to the beach. Outdoor restaurant again overlooking the beach is great to watch the sunsets

JerseyWe would have liked better lighting in the room and the breakfast was a little on the basic side.
We stayed in the beachfront suite and it was so nice to have the separate seating area and all the additional space that came with it. It was extremely comfortable and so nice to lie in bed and have a view of the sea and hear the waves crashing onto the beach. The room was cleaned every day and the staff were really friendly and helpful with booking taxis etc. The pool was great, especially as it was located right next to the beach. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend Andalay Boutique Resort.

ThailandRoom is a bit dark. I was working, and even though there was a desk, there was no light in the working area.
Right by the beach, my villa was 20m away from the sea. Good restaurant with surprisingly low prices, very friendly staff and good massage

United KingdomEverything was excellent!
We had a beachfront room which looked across the pool. The room was large with a front and back entrance. The breakfast was simple but good I had poached eggs and bacon each morning and a small pancake. Excellent food in the evening and happy hour from 4.30pm till 6.30pm - cocktails approx. £3 which were really good and a large Leo for £2.

United KingdomFrom the roadside the resort doesn’t look very nice so may not encourage people in to have a drink or meal at the restaurant/bar which is a shame as the setting is great as was the food. It just looks like a concrete wall. If it was cleaned up a little and painted it would look so much better. This suggestion could also be carried forward to include the outside of the accommodation rooms. We wouldn’t suggest bright colours but a colour that would be more pleasant to see than dull concrete type walls/buildings. Also the windows in our bathroom were not all frosted so we could see the bare concrete walls when in there. If they were all frosted it would at least hide the dull concrete walls! Lighting in the rooms was somewhat inadequate. It needs 1 decent light in the bedroom and bathroom in our opinion. Some of the grouting in the pool could do with redoing but there were not any missing tiles.
Staff were all friendly and helpful. We had Beach Front Suite which was large with a seating area at the front. Smart TV with access to streaming services if you desire (we didn’t!). Air Conditioning worked great and as the key to your room is an old style key it doesn’t go off when you leave the room. Shower was warm and powerful enough. Bed was firm but not a major issue for us compared to other people’s complaints on their reviews on this issue. Perhaps we have a more firmer bed at home! We slept pretty good. Safe was large to store your valuables. Drinking water topped up daily. Large fridge was cold to store your drinks/water bought at the local shop. Breakfast was buffet style with option to order eggs however you wished them to be cooked. There was enough choice at breakfast for sure and it was tasty. Food at the restaurant in the evening was good too. Happy hour for drinks is 4:30-6:30pm so we took advantage of a nice drink or two and watched the sunset from the bar overlooking the beach directly. Stunning sunsets! Pool was a good enough size for the resort and directly overlooked the beach. There’s enough sun-beds and parasols around the pool to serve half of the guests with more sun chairs with parasols on the beach literally a matter of a few seconds walk away that are for resort guests only. We used both but preferred the beach chairs as there was more flexibility to move them around more and find more shade than around the pool we felt. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again. We felt it was pretty good value for money.

BelgiumApart from the fantastic beach, there is not a lot to do on Koh Lanta, one needs transport. There is no Grab, open pick-up trucks are relatively expensive on this island. There is basically one road at the coast side with little businesses both for locals and tourists.
The location at the beach is superb, the rooms are large and comfortable with beach view. Breakfast is OK, not as much choice though as in other hotels of this price class

CanadaBeach chairs are uncomfortable, sling-type, but majority of hotels on the beach use this type. Pool chairs were good. Wifi was a bit glitchy.
Our ocean view room was nice and had plenty of room to move around. Beautiful sandy beach and long stretch if you like to walk. On-site restaurant had a good selection we tried Thai and North American and both were good. Also many restaurants to choose from in the beach.

United KingdomOur toilet leaked and therefore there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. This was our only issue and the hotel staff did call maintenance immediately who siliconed the toilet base to help the leak, so we are grateful that they sorted it so quickly, the smell did remain though. Other than this (which was not a usually occurrence) everything else was absolutely perfect and we didn’t want to leave. We will 100% be back.
Room was lovely, pool was gorgeous and clean and had a sea view which was amazing. Staff were friendly, food and cocktails were nice. Location was fab, it was on a beautiful beach with soft white sands and calm seas that were not rocky underneath, beautiful sunsets and within easy walking distance to nice restaurants. Also a cheap and quick tuk tuk from the Old Town which is nice to visit for an evening.
