We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

GermanyA very nice stay! The family running this place is really friendly, helpful and are overall very nice people. They even lend me a bike for free to explore the city. They served local specialties for breakfast which I found very tasty. The room was somewhat big, clean and comfortable, the WiFi was good, the bath and shower were clean and modern. I got a room update for free because the room I rented was already occupied. So I even had a little balcony just for myself, which was really cool. For a small fee they washed my clothes. The location is in the center of Phetchaburi, which means the typical sightseeing spots are not to far away. If you are in Phetchaburi, stay at this place, you will not regret it!

It was a lovely hostel in an old riverside house right on the edge of Petchaburi Old town. The owners were warm and welcoming and throughout our stay were helpful and informative. Breakfast each day was different Petchaburi Thai foods which allowed us to taste the local delicacies. The position was perfect for exploring and we could walk to many temples and the main sights, as well as the night market and morning fresh market easily. We felt really at home and so far this has been the high light of our trip. Petchaburi is a quaint and interesting town to explore.

BelgiumA very welcoming family, who give great tips to explore Petchaburi and surroundings. We didn't really know what to expect from this city, but thanks to them we were pleasantly surprised by the town and the food. On top of that, we could enjoy an original and yummie thai breakfast!

United KingdomThe current owners have only been running it for 6 months and have not finished redesigning certain aspects which will only enhance the place even more
Staying at this hotel in Phetchaburi has been one of the most heartwarming and unforgettable travel experiences of my life. The family running it are incredibly unique, warm, and genuinely caring. From the moment I arrived, they treated me like part of their own. Their hospitality goes far beyond expectations—they are always eager to help, and they do so with sincere kindness and attention. One of the highlights has been learning Thai cooking right in their kitchen. The owner even took me to the local market at 5 a.m. to select the freshest ingredients for breakfast. It was a magical experience, seeing the town wake up and sourcing produce directly from local vendors. This is not just a place to sleep—it’s a deep and authentic cultural experience guided by people who truly love what they do. I’ve stayed in many places, but this is the highest rating I’ve ever given on Booking.com—and it’s well deserved. If you’re visiting Phetchaburi, don’t miss the chance to stay here. You’ll leave with full heart, new skills, and unforgettable memories.

AustraliaBeds a bit hard.
Wow what a stay. I felt like family for 3 days, enjoyed a traditional Thai breakfast and was only a short walk to the main temples and market for dinner. Phetchaburi is a must for the cultural traveler and the Khao Luang Caves a must. It was the highlight of my trip. I'd recommend the balcony room for your own private space with views of the river.

AustraliaOur family absolutely loved our time in Phetchaburi, and the gracious hospitality of Rod, Nora and June made our stay especially memorable. We arrived with no expectations, and were delighted by the tasty local treats for breakfast, the terrace overlooking the river and the use of free bikes, an enjoyable ride to the cave temple, and the hill palace cable car. Great cafes, fresh market, night market all within walking distance. Our kids especially enjoyed the extensive collection of board games at the homestay, generously shared with guests. If you are having second thoughts about visiting Phetchaburi, it is worth it just to have the experience of staying at A+ Hometel!

New ZealandNothing. This was the best experience of our trip to Thailand.
The hosts were amazing. They even took us out to a fantastic restaurant specialising in food from Petchaburi. The breakfasts were always from local food and varied each day. The hotel is right in the middle of a very cool part of Petchaburi within walking distance from markets, temples, food stalls and the palace.

People are lovely and you really feel like home. I'm happy we have chosen this place for visiting this nice, typical and non touristy town full of beautiful temples.

Here, everything lies in the beauty of the gesture, in the constant concern to please, to make discover... in particular the superb 100% local breakfast that few tourists, ultimately, have the opportunity to taste. A + Hometel, it is much more than a guesthouse, it is a wonderful family, always ready to help. A moment rich in emotions, a highlight of my trip to Thailand. It is the place where you absolutely must stay for a few days to discover a (still) authentic Thailand. My rate is "A + 10". Thank you all.

GermanyIt was the best stay I‘ve ever had travelling. I was initially planning to stay 3 days. I extended to 9 days. Nora, June and Rod are very caring. It starts with the room, offering all the amenities (A/C, Rain shower, comfy bed, many pillows) at a very affordable price. Then, it includes the breakfast during which they are curating delicious local meals, adapted to our diet (for example, they heard I was vegetarian and I like spicy food and from this moment I only had veggie food with some spicy notes). Also, they are very generous with their time, advices and recommendations. They took time to show me where I should go and eat. They even called Temples to get information about meditation time or for prayer. When a guest has an issue, they do their best to help solve it (ex: forgetting a phone in a taxi, wanting to put the Rugby match on the tv in the shared living room,…. Many example of dedicated care). It was the literally the best stay and I‘m very grateful for it. Eternal Gratitude

United StatesNot a dislike, just something we often would enjoy is easy access to cold water, like a water urn dispenser with ice. It is NOT normal in Thailand we understand, and would be an over the top amenity, but would be very appreciated :)
What an awesome place! Amazing owners, super accommodating, i.e. let us leave our bikes even though we arrived 4 hours early! locked them in a safe room, gave us lots of advice for areas to explore, were very kind, caring and interested in our travels. Gave us treats local to Petchaburi to try, offered to upgrade our room for a very fair price. They prepared, even though the owner was unwell (not contagious) and could of done with a rest, a specific vegetarian breakfast for us, going out very early in the morning to help us silly bike tourers beat the heat (they understood how important it is to us.) The place is beautiful and the city of Petchaburi is too, in such an ideal location. Amazing balcony sitting wathcing the river. Right across from the fresh market, so easy to walk everywhere. Next door to a cafe. We picked the budget cheapest room, so no window or fridge, but great wifi, good AC, great shower/bathroom. If you like Tv There is a big one hung in a good spot. Really comfortable bed and sheets, nice place to hang clothes. Perfect if you are looking for something cheap but you are also paying for excellent location and service outside of the room. Light even had changing colour temperatures :D so cool Thank you for providing a great accomodation Ignore the bad reviews on here! Sometimes people book things and don't know what they're picking or the value of things. This is GOOD value! Excuse the mess we made in the photos of our room...

United StatesNo sink in my room it that is a minor point.
The owners are incredibly kind people. They made my visit a great one. I’m riding my bicycle around Thailand and they even get up early in the morning to buy some food for me to take as I was leaving at 6:15 AM. Their breakfasts are legendary. Instead of Western meal, They provided traditional Thai food. They also gave lots of advice on what to see and do in Phetchaburi.

SingaporeIt’s a cosy homestay with warm hospitality, personal attention and great care extended by owners & daughter team. Lucky for me, on the day of my departure, the owners having got some free time brought me to the oldest temple (Plipi) to view some ancient religious artefacts, to the seaside for yummy seafood with views amongst others on the way. A very enjoyable time in this peaceful (the annual festive Phra Thanon Khiri 10-day huge fair was >1km away) & relaxing town surpassing my previous trip!
