Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaNo dislikes at all.
The property itself was amazing. There's a cleaner that cleans the whole place top to bottom every single day. Communal fridge, kettle, microwave & spare lockers for food including free water aswell. The rooms themselves are well maintained, with a main AC unit as well as fans mounted to the walls for each individual bed & locker area for bags that have an awful lot of space in them! Shower facilities also really well cleaned and everything works the way it's supposed to!

United StatesWe liked being outside of the main old town square. It was in a lovely quieter neighborhood area but still walking distance to everything. The owner is also incredibly nice and we loved chatting with him.

United StatesNice place a bit outside the city center, but still walking distance. The owner was incredibly nice and always helpful. We stayed in both the queen bed room and the dorm, both are clean. The hangout area is small but still met lots of people.

New ZealandNot particularly social vibe.
Comfortable beds, great bathrooms with separate showers. Normal sized pillows (not huge like many hostels in SE Asia). Friendly host.

AustraliaNot the most optimal storage system, a small locker or box in the bed would have been useful. Not the most central location but at this point I'm looking for things.
Non is great, funny, always up for a chat, has good recommendations. The volunteer staff were helpful and chill. Nice quiet hostel but still sociable Cool vintage clothes shop around the corner

ChinaI hope the hotel management can strengthen the rules for residents in shared rooms. Only one person should be allowed to sleep on each bed. I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, and the first 5 nights were great. However, on the 6th night, while staying in the 8-person mixed dorm, a French woman in the lower bunk opposite me brought a French man back to the room. They chatted and flirted on the bed from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The two of them kept coming in and out, giving the impression that they weren't in the room, but I couldn’t sleep well. At midnight, they returned to the room, lay down on the bed, and began hugging and kissing. From midnight until 7:00 AM, they stayed on the bed all night. I couldn’t sleep at all because the noise was unbearable. I believe adults would understand what happened. There were 7 people in the room besides me, and these two completely ignored the feelings of others. I’m not sure if this behavior is typical for them.
I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, and the first five nights were very satisfying. Except for the sixth night, everything else was great. The hotel is in a very good location, at Chiang Mai Gate, about a 15-minute walk from the Chiang Mai Gate Night Market. If you don't want to walk too far, there are restaurants and two 7-Elevens right at the door. By the way, if you stay here, I recommend booking for a Saturday, because it's the day of Chiang Mai's famous Saturday Night Market, which is just a 1-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel has three floors and is a very beautiful building. There is no elevator, so if you're carrying luggage like me, you need to be careful because the stairs are a bit narrow. The shared dormitory I booked is on the third floor. The room is quite spacious, and there is a balcony for drying clothes, which I was very satisfied with. There is only one shared bathroom on the third floor, but it is very large, with the toilet and shower area separated, keeping dry and wet areas apart. If there are a lot of people, you can also use the bathroom on the second floor. The bedding is very clean, and the staff cleans thoroughly. When you enter the accommodation area, you need to leave your shoes on the shoe rack on the first floor. The staff is very friendly, and you can ask them any questions you may have. By the way, this hotel doesn't require a deposit.

ChinaThis youth hostel is located near Chiang Mai Gate, just a 15-minute walk away. The Chiang Mai Night Market is also held at Chiang Mai Gate in the evenings, creating a lively atmosphere. It's a great place to eat and shop at night. The hostel is housed in a building with a very artistic vibe. From the building, it’s clear that the owner is someone with a story to tell. Check-in time is strictly at 2 p.m., so if you arrive earlier, you won't be able to get your room key. However, you can store your luggage and must wait until 2 p.m. to check in. The building has three floors. The first floor is a large public space where you can make friends and eat. There is no elevator, and the stairs are a bit narrow, so you need to be cautious. It can be a bit inconvenient if you're carrying a suitcase like I was. The bed I booked is in a mixed 8-bed dorm on the third floor. The bed is very large, and I believe it's big enough for two people to sleep comfortably. Each bed has a privacy curtain, and when it's pulled down, it feels like a little world of its own. The curtain’s shading effect is good, although you can still see some light outside when it’s drawn. By the way, the hostel provides lockers on the second floor, but you need to arrive early to see if there’s an available space. You will need to bring your own lock. No matter which youth hostel you stay in, always keep your valuables with you. The economy isn't great, and there are some bad people around, so always be mindful of your safety when going out. Additionally, the bedding here is very comfortable and clean. The duvet is a bit thin, but if you wear long clothes like I did, you won't feel cold. On the third floor, there is only one bathroom, and the toilet and shower are combined, though the wet and dry areas are separated. There are two showers on the second floor, so if there are many people, you can use those instead.
