How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

For the price of blue bay suites , one would expect excellence. The internet access was weak, the shower and some lights need some fixing. The quality of the food at the buffet needs to be improved. The variety is there, but the quality is not.
The location, the calm, the pool, the spacious room. The staff is friendly overall, except that we had a slow check in. We arrived at 3 pm and our room was still not available.

It needs a refurbishment. We had frequent electricity problems in the room. We had door problem not closing. The room looks nice but needs a general refurbishment..

This place is fantastic overall, but I was shocked and annoyed to find out that they charge you for all coffee consumed in your hotel room. I’ve traveled in over 50 countries on 6 countries. In every single hotel I’ve stayed in that leaves coffee in hotel rooms (coffee that you prepare for yourself), this coffee is complementary. Furthermore, there was no sign or pricing information on or near the coffee machine or the sachets of coffee indicating otherwise. So I was surprised to see a charge of over 10,000 CFA when I checked out. Given how expensive this hotel is, surprising guests with a unannounced coffee surcharge seems cheap, dishonest, and just gross. It’s the opposite of hospitality. It begs the question: what next? A surcharge for squares of toilet paper?

Can't think of any for now.
The people were so polite and willing to help. Especially folks like Amadou at the reception desk, Ruqkaya and Aby. These three people made my stay exceptional. Likewise, the food, easy access to the beach, and great facilities in general made it worth every penny spent.

When we arrived we add to wait 15mns, despite 2 ladies were behind their computer with no guests. Not welcoming at all. (Not even trying eye contact and seemed upset)…. When another person arrived I finally asked if he could and he was very professional. (Ibra) The room was almost ready at 16h30 ( we dropped our luggage and let them to finish to rest) Booked 2 double beds, provided a sofa instead… No duvet available for the sofa, We booked for 3 people only considered for 2 people (towels-slippers-items etc Needed to ask many times to get the missing towels and duvet There was no door for the toilet….. (privacy important) Not very well maintained Not worth the price…. On Sunday there was a very important group for the day, we should have been informed as for the chairs at the beach it was too busy. The private swimming pool at blue bay was used by a group of people speaking very loudly at 4am, after a little while the security guards asked them to move
Beach proximity, swimming pool at close range, room booked at the very end could see the sunset.
