How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Lighting could be improved . Hot water came from cold water tap and vice versa in washbasin .
Excellent location in centre of village . Early check-in by son of owner who was exceptionally helpful. Huge room with sofas , chairs and table ,utility room with kettle ,crockery and cutlery and a large bathroom . Lots of windows in bedroom .

The plugs were a bit difficult to use because the furniture was very heavy and the plugs were behind the furniture. Also, there was no place to plug-in the hot water pot except on the floor. It would be nice to have an extension cord for that. The woman could not speak English, but she called her son who helped when I first arrived. She was very nice as was he.
It was very comfortable and along the route that I was taking.

There was a constant murmuring noise through the night coming from somewhere (maybe the hot water boiler), which may be disturbing to people. We did not care too much. :-)
Basic rooms, equipped with kettle, fridge and cutlery. Rooms and bathroom were clean. Suitable for a few nights of stay. Although the owner does not speak english or german, but she was kind and helpful, and could get some help on phone to translate. Right next door is a bakery, where we could buy everything for breakfast. Warm meal is only available in a nearby pizzeria, where food is great.

The Booking map location was incorrect (placed it "atop" a Pizzeria across the street - the photoes are correct though).
Good location in the village center, right across from an OK pizzeria/restaurant (kitchen till 20:30 as of writing this).

Shower has no niche or shelf to put your soap on.
Wonderful value for your money. Bakery next door makes it easy to fall asleep especially because they bake bread every day. Don't expect much, but there is everything you need.

I wanted to give this place more stars but due to the disorganization I couldn't. My last train got delayed by a couple hours so I was forced to walk over 6km io the hotel. I tried calling the property for assistance but we couldn't communicate (no fault to her). Once I arrived, no one was there. I luckily found the only English speaking person in town at the pizza place across the street who called for me. The owner does not speak English, which I understand, but she could have communicated directions ahead of time and I could have translated it. Her son then called the pizza girl and spoke to me giving directions. I asked him how to get taxis in the area and he gave me false information. First he said that no cars go to the castle area. There is an entire parking area over halfway up and several others dropped off people at the top entrance. Second, he said I could not arrange a taxi for the morning because they would not drive me only 1.5km to the station so I'd have to walk. This was dangerous as you're walking ON the road and I was nearly hit several times by people speeding. There's 3 grave markers on the side of the road so it's clear people have been killed. Additionally you can only pay by cash and I had to go looking for an ATM and then try to find someone to break the bills because I could not pay the owner in person. Only one business was open before 10am and I didn't feel comfortable just leaving cash on the table as I could be accused of not paying. The restaurant downstairs and other businesses also are closed. I've traveled all over the world where people don't speak my language but this could have been a much better experience. Information should have been given ahead of time of where to go, how to check in, someone there to get change and a receipt from, etc., and taxis could have absolutely been arranged, saving me walking over 16km in the cold rain.
The room was clean and quiet.
