How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe apartment in the Tatrachalet villa in Tatranská Lomnica met all our expectations. The apartment is clean, tidy, very warm and cozy, modernly furnished, but at the same time designed to refer to mountain architecture. It has extensive kitchen equipment, which allows you to prepare your own meals. The apartment we stayed in had 2 beds, i.e. a king bed for two people and one single bed. A huge advantage is the location of Tatrachalet, about 5 minutes on foot from the ski slope in Tatranská Lomnica. The hosts are very nice and helpful. We recommend staying at Tatrachalet in Tatranská Lomnica.
We liked everything. The only thing is that if you expect a nice mountain view, the apartment doesn't have it until you go outside (the apartment is on the ground floor).

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed our stay, the hosts were very friendly and happy to offer advice about local attractions and hikes. The apartment was perfect for our needs, and very well decorated and furnished. It is located five minutes from the centre of town, but it very peaceful and quiet.
A very minor point is that the outside space and table is right next to the other apartment, and so wasn’t particularly private, but we didn’t mind.

Verified reviewGood location close to the ski slopes. Nice cosy apartment where the owner has put a lot of thought into small details (nespresso coffee machine, etc.)
Whilst the host was pleasant, I felt somewhat uncomfortable with the check-in/ check-out process. This apartment is within the owner's building and the check in is at the owners house. I have arrived at 8pm and felt I was intruding somewhat into someone's private residence. Same at the check-out where the owner felt the need to inspect the apartment in detail and said it was "okay" when we have actually made an effort to clean and dry all the dishes and clean the entire apartment. The price was also quite high as it was during Slovakia's school holidays

Since the entrance to the living part of the house is through the entrance hall, which I use as a reception in the winter, my privacy was not violated at all. Verified reviewThe property was in very close proximity to the ski lifts and close to many nice restaurants and bars. We stayed for 1 week and had all the facilities necessary in the accommodation. The owners made us feel very welcome and even booked us a taxi to get back to the airport at the end of the trip.

Verified reviewSuper place I've ever stayed)) Amasing 2 rooms with an equipped kitchen, definitely suitable for a couple. Very helpful, friendly and caring owners. Stayed for 3 days only. Internet, TV, all good. 15 min walk distance to Lomnica lifts. Again 15 mins walk to the supermarket and train station. Very buitiful view from the street to the mountain picks))) There was also a swimming pool awailable for a good price right in the next building, did not have a chance to use it but it looked good. Many places to eat nearby. I think the place is amaising for staying as long as you can, recommend!

Verified reviewWe had an amazing stay in this lovely cottage, we enjoyed everything, it was clean, very nicely designed, we liked wooden touch in the interior and we had all necessaries needed for the 3 nights stay. Comfortable bed, parking spot, close to the cabin car to High Tatras mountains, basics in the kitchen, even a coffe machine and the capsules. I would also welcome an iron and iron board but other than that beautiful place and very well maintained. Location great, easy and close access to the village centre to a shop or for dinner. We would definitely recommend! :)
