Housekeeping is before 9am... First day we told them to come later (we had until 10am for breakfast) but I expect that due to the language barrier they did not do the room at all (we left the hotel before 10:30)

The coffee machine in the breakfast room isn't presenting a real coffee. It's like a chemical brewery. But the friendly staff always offered me a coffee from the bar.

Unfortunately, our stay at Penzión Central Park was overshadowed by a deeply uncomfortable and unacceptable incident in the wellness area. We arrived at the wellness facilities around 6 PM, when it was still quite busy, two other couples were in the pool, and other guests were using the sauna and surrounding areas. At that time, a couple was already in the communal pool completely naked, in full view of everyone present, including elderly guests. No one from the staff intervened, despite the fact that cameras were clearly visible and staff were on duty nearby. My friend and I tried to enjoy our time regardless and moved to the jacuzzi area, which is at the other end of the facility. A while later, I returned to the pool area to collect my belongings from a deck chair, and that’s when I witnessed the same naked couple engaging in sexual intercourse in the pool. I was in shock. The staff member was nearby, but nothing was being done. I reported it immediately to the staff, but there was no reaction, no sense of urgency, no acknowledgment that this was a serious violation of guest comfort and basic decency. To make matters worse, the following morning there was no apology, no mention of the incident, and not even a polite check-in to ask how our stay had been. The pool was not cleaned, and we were left with the impression that the staff were more interested in avoiding the issue than taking responsibility for it. As paying guests, we felt dismissed and frankly appalled. Incidents like this should never be tolerated, and there must be clear policies, active staff response, and appropriate follow-up to protect the dignity and well-being of all guests. It’s unfortunate, because aside from this, the hotel is beautifully designed with clean, comfortable rooms, a lovely boutique atmosphere, and a fantastic location just minutes from the centre of Žilina. Breakfast was also excellent, with a great variety of options. But none of that can fully make up for the failure to act.

I stayed at Penzión Central Park in Žilina for one night with a close friend, and at first glance, everything felt really promising. The hotel has a beautiful, almost French boutique vibe, clean white interiors, elegant design, and a cozy atmosphere that made us feel instantly relaxed. Our room wasn’t huge, but it had a small French balcony and was more than comfortable for the two of us. The bed was great, the duvets were big and soft, and everything felt fresh and tidy. The location couldn’t have been better. Just steps from a little park with a fountain, surrounded by cafés and restaurants, and even a shopping mall just five to seven minutes away in case you needed anything. It was also super convenient to reach, about eight minutes from the train station. Breakfast the next morning was a real treat. There was a great variety of food and everything was fresh and delicious. The coffee was a bit too bitter for my taste, but that’s a small detail and easily adjusted. The staff, especially during breakfast service and check-in, were friendly and helpful without being too formal or distant. Overall, for the price, especially with breakfast included, we felt like we were getting great value.

We couldn't get a reservation for the messages, on the site it says to get a reservation min. 30 minutes before but we asked in the morning and it was already full. It wasn't a big problem just something we wanted to try.

Breakfast was awesome, good choices and well coocked meals. Also location of the hotel is close to everything we wanted to see so perfect.

Not enough parking space for penzión guests as there was a party in the pension.

Location was excellent in short walking distance to city center. Staff was veru helpfull and tryied to quickly fix the situation with not enough parking spaces.

The shower was on the smaller side which was not ideal, however the rest of the room was very spacious so this is only a minor thing to deal with.

The hotel was in the perfect location for us, near to the main square but also close to the ice rink. The breakfast offered was ideal for what we needed and the ability to use the spa facilities was just what was needed to start our mornings in the right way.

Only two floors but the stairs were difficult with two suitcases. There was no lift. The walls were very thin. We could clearly hear the conversations next door. No tea/coffee facilities in the room. No hairdryer.

The location was good. Near the town park and main roads but quiet and relaxing. Parking was large and convenient and included in stay, which was great. We only stayed for one night, but the room was large enough, the bed was comfortable, and it had a good shower. Breakfast was fine. Basic, not a huge variety but good quality. Bread was fresh and very nice.

Taxi driver holding 'Taxi' sign at station was dishonest and charged us 10 Euros for a very short drive. He could have told us the Pension was only round the corner. Beware of him. Ask price first and how far.
