The location was amazing, the room had everything that we needed. Everything was clean, the bathroom was very nice too.

Although the reservations says there are free toiletries, there is only a liquid hand-soap dispenser. Fortunately we had brought our own shampoo and shower gel. Important to know is that (in common with some other nearby countries eg. Hungary that I had experienced) there is no bathroom basin plug provided. I had brought my own bath plug (larger dimension) from home. The weather was very warm and I would have preferred cotton sheets for coolness. Although the property is on a small local access lane, there is a busy road beyond the trees. This road seems to go quiet during the night however and the windows when closed are well soundproofed.

The teenage daughter of the house was very friendly (as was her father who spoke no English) and helpful to us, as she spoke quite a bit of English. The Penzión Reduta, which is on a hill, has a great view of Oravsky Castle , which has more than 700 steps! very nearby. There was a convenient continental breakfast brought to us in the communal kitchen for €7 extra per day with rolls and bread, butter, eggs, cheeses and salami. We bought our own muesli in the next town Dolný Kubin's Tesco. My ground floor room was large and had a sofa; a standard Iamp would have been good addition there. I liked the two tilt-and-turn windows and the door opening onto my own patio. At the rear of the property there was a landscaped terrace garden. There are several restaurants in the town, a short walk away, but most of them close about 8pm.

I didnt get a towel, there was one for the floor hanging on the shower so I assume that was fresh, one for the hands was already hanging on the hanger in the bathroom which is odd-usually all the towels are on the bed, so it seemed that they forgot to take it and so it might been used before and no other towels were on the bed or anywhere else.

The mattress was memory foam which is very uncomfortable for me with back trouble, I had to use pillows for extra support

Lack of shower gel & soap disappointing. If you have trouble with soft mattresses then be aware. The penzion is up a hill so a challenge with heavy luggage.

Be aware of additional payments. If you are traveling with your pet it'll be plus 10 euros. And there will be an additional tax 0.5 euro per person per night. Not much but you have to know

The location was a bit of a walk from the main train station especially if you have significant luggage. The issue was not the distance per say but the slopes and the climb to the accommodation, with all the luggage. One could anyway take a taxi, but we were on a low-budget trip.

Host was so so so helpful. He gave us a free ride to the train station on the last day seeing our luggage. Room was great and the bathroom very spacious and clean. There was a nice TV and a great kitchen - though shared. We had a nice balcony too. Location is perfect for the visit to castle and nice walk along the beautiful neighbourhood.

I didn't find anything that would bother us.

Breakfast was a Slovak classic and quite okay. The location of the guesthouse is excellent, right below Orava Castle and close to several ski resorts in the area.

I send a message to the owner, when we arrive in this village by train. I didn't expect, he come, and pick us up. It was a nice gesture. The accomodation is 10/10 :) First of all, the balkon from the kitchen.

The room was a bit cold. Breakfast is very cheap (5 eur), but it was proportionally simple (bread and some things to put on it, no coffe).

Extremely good value for money. Good place to stay if you plan to start your day at Orava Castle as we did.

Good location, about 5 minutes walk from Orava castle. No problem to check in early to leave my bag whilst I visited the castle. The room was clean and well-furnished and the WiFi was good. There is also a shared kitchen so that you can make hot drinks and cook something, which is very useful if visiting outside the high season, as the restaurants seem to close early. Very good value for money.
