How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

- the sink was clogged and smelly - no curtain for the ceiling window, lots of light very early in the morning - 30 minutes walk from the city center
- very big room - clean - friendly staff - close to a cool restaurant

There was no kettle in the room and WiFi stopped working at midnight
The guest house is located in a quiet and peaceful place, within walking distance to the city center. There is a restaurant and free parking nearby. The room is comfortable with a comfortable bed. Friendly and pleasant staff.

Room had only one small window in the ceiling. Air conditioning was not proprly working as could not get temperature down in the room
Very clean and newly done room. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room. Good location near to old town, river and chanel makes feeling you are in countryside

there is no wardrobe in the room. The air conditioning is old, it didn't work. We only had a roof window in the room. For so much money it was a big disappointment for us.

The pension is located in a gym. It's like an sports dorm. You have to go through some other rooms to get to yours. The parking is really dark at night, I didn't feel safe. You can only get there by car.
The room was new.

Took me 2 hours to find. Zipcode is not in navigation, so what I did was use the nearest matching. At the curved road Garmin told to turn left... which ends you in a decrepit camping with darkness and a dead end. Instead you should turn right, that does end you up on a normal road, with a lot of parked cars on the left side and houses on the right (and Arena in the middle). The street turned out to be on top of the ditch that had the camping and the lake where I ended up with first. I used simple elimination but it's unpleasant in the cold dark, after 6 hours of driving. - It's not a pension but a sports facility, that happens to have accomodation. With very active Slovakian squashers and the accompanying screeching sounds of shoes. They do stop at 21:30 though, then all is quiet. - there were several insects that I simply killed, not a big deal, but there was a mosquito that was very hungry and kept me awake at night. - no water cooker (no way to make coffee). - the female boss, Anna, speaks poor English and has obviously no knowledge of the area. Relevantly, she can't explain how you should get to the Arena (when you are at the camping like I did). - Anna won't give you usable internet, only unprotected. In the end at morning 8:00am instead of Anna was another native, I said I paid for WiFi and see, booking.com does not accept open wifi. Please make a connection. Gave her the phone and she entered the protected WiFi after which I could make the next appointment. But to say it plainly, I found the prospect to drive to a hotel without booking online stressful. - There is breakfast, but at 08:00, and even coffee was commercial prices (€2) so I said thanks but no. Wanted to leave this place asap. BETTER RECOMMENDATION: 1. provide connection to protected wifi. Type in the code so we don't need to know it. 2. provide a water cooker. So we can make coffee.
While I do recommend to prepare well, to put it diplomatically, I must say that: + the beds were fantastic. + bathroom is fantastic. + tap water tastes nice. + tv works but only few channels, no MTV or anything. + street is quiet at night and there is parking space in front that you can see your car, and Trencin doesn't feel unsafe or anything.

The rooms are part of a large sports complex where a lot of activities take place during the day and night, so it gets pretty noisy and quite busy from 8ish am to roughly 9 pm. The walls are sort of thin so pray you get a considerate neighbor. Also the floors squeak considerably, so everyone around will hear you, and you'll hear them, and that can be annoying at night and early in the morning.
Room was clean, spacious, with newer bathroom, furniture and appliances. It didn't have a window but had a nice roof dome for ventilation. Plenty of parking. Dude at front desk was nice and accommodating.

The wifi never worked at night, hot water wasn’t a guarantee past evening hours and AC wasn’t working properly.
The property was very close to city center with good reachability
