My dogs and I had a wonderful stay at Pension Silon, which is only half an hour away from Tatranska Lomnica (by car). There you can take the cable car to the beautiful Skalnate Pleso. We had a great day of hiking there. Unfortunately our car broke down that evening, but our host was kind enough to let us stay a little longer. The pension is very close to the road, yet very quiet. Great breakfast! I definitely recommend staying here!

Not sure we stayed in Penzion Silon - we seemed to stay next door with a very friendly man. We had breakfast at Penzion Silon and were invited to the honesty bar for beer and kofola, but on the second night the door into the Penzion was locked so we did not go in - we only had a key for next door. Also our Internet data connection was flaky but we could not access the Penzion WiFi so had to do quick Googles at breakfast to plan our days. Small issues but just informing others. We only had a limited grasp of the situation due to our lack of Slovak language.

Very friendly owners, made to feel very welcome, nice big room with kitchen and sitting area, parking available, good location, lovely varied breakfast, great honesty bar when we could access it. Lovely area to visit with the tree top walk, cable car and Tatra Bob nearby. Saw reviews for pizzeria and it was indeed fabulous.

There was an unpleasant smell from the toilet/shower in one of the roomsm which required us to keep the door shut at all times.

The pension is close to the town entrance and has a lovely view of the High Tatras. The place was cozy, the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was amazing (self-service). There was also a shared kitchenette with some utensils.

My story and feedback here is a little special (I guess), but it still might be useful for you. I made a reservation here with pre-payment and without the option to cancel the reservation. However it turned out that the accomodation doesn't actually have free rooms that night so they cannot take care about us. That was unfortunate. But the owner took a full responsibility for such a mistake and offered to accomodate us in different hotel in the village and payed for the difference in the price. So.....long story short....I don't have a direct experience with the accomodation itself but my experience with the owner was quite good.

The lady who runs it is clearly a big fan of plug in air fresheners, which tend to make my nose itch as I'm allergic to that kind of thing. I appreciate that this won't affect most people.

We stayed here for one night before beginning the Tatranska Magistrala - Zdiar is right by the beginning of the path. It's only a little place - I think it's probably busiest in ski season but we were there in the summer - with not a huge amount to do but pleasant enough for an overnight stop. SIlon is a very traditional type of homestay and so plenty of character. Decent breakfast, and they let us leave the hire car in a parking space opposite the house for a few days. Slightly off topic but if you're looking for somewhere to eat I would thoroughly recommend the pizza place which was delicious and also the most happening place in town by some margin. It's an easy walk from there.

I had to go 3 floors upstairs with a heavy suitcase. It's a family pension with 4 rooms. The owner was very nice, although she doesn't speak any English and I had to use Google translator to communicate.

The view was very nice.

Host does not speak English. They do not reply through booking.com messaging system. Their booking.com system also got hacked after I booked the room and I got my credit card blocked because of that. I did not receive any apology or discount for this inconvenience. Our room had windows coming right to the entrance of the building, so we had to choose either privacy, either no natural light in the room.

Rooms were big, there was also a decent sized kitchen. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.

The room was not as expected on the pictures.

The breakfast was home cooked and with a large variation. It was a pleasant surprise. The garden and backyard area is really nice to hang out, many details in the decorations and well equipped playground.
