Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanThis historical building is beautiful and amazing but the room facility is old and not very comfortable.
It’s located close to the train station with just five-minutes walk and easy to find. The staff is welcoming, helpful and friendly. The food is simple but very fresh and tasty.

AustraliaSome of the light fittings didn’t work and there could be more sensor lights in the corridors.
The room and bathroom were spacious. The building was delightful and the food was good. A great location, right next to the train.

HungaryDinner meals were ok, but not exceptional (unlike the breakfast)
Very good breakfast, good location, cozy and warm room. Train is a few minutes away (you can also hear it from the room, but it wasn't loud enough to bother us).

PolandI really liked the stay. My only suggestion would be to add some protein to the vegetarian dinner option (for example some kind of beens, lentils, chickpeas, cheese etc).
The hotel has a lovely, oldschool vibe and feels very cosy. We got a spacious room with a veranda, it was warm, bed was very comfortable. Close to the train station but you can enter the hiking trails straight from the hotel. Nice food. Free parking. Friendly staff. Free billard pool. Quitet rooms.

HungaryThe food was good overall, but I wish we could have had more choices and more traditional Slovakian food for dinner so we could try local specialities.
The staff is very lovely, the room is clean and they have a wonderful cat family living close to the hotel!

HungaryThe timing of meals could perhaps be better adjusted to the hikers. If one wants to leave early, they have to ask for breakfast to be prepared separately (which is a nice gesture, but not comparable to the high standard of the buffet breakfast). Perhaps starting breakfast at 7 AM would be better. Dinner was generally fine, the food was always delicious, but after a longer, more challenging hike, we sometimes remained hungry. Similar to breakfast, the timing of dinner is not necessarily optimal for hiking, starting an hour later or having a two-hour time window would help a lot.
For those starting a hike, it's in a very good location, with one of the train stations of the railway connecting the towns of the High Tatras two minutes away, and two hiking trails essentially starting next to the hotel. The hotel building is old and very beautiful, and our room was pleasant. The accommodation included breakfast and dinner, the breakfast was great, varied, and met all needs.

United KingdomSome wear and tear around the hotel however we went in-between seasons so it could be recovering from the winter season. I splash around in the shower and unfortunately we had no shower guard to stop water going all over. Town is a little quiet but a good mid point between 2 touristic towns.
Good size room with enclosed balcony with nice big chairs, very comfortable room.

HungaryThe english knowledge of the staff could be better. The cleaning could be better as well, we found some trash half-under the bed. It didn't bother us too much, but the place is not so cheap to be okay with this. Another thing: We asked for tap water at the dinner, we got tap water (we saw the lady pour water from the tap) but in the end we got billed for bottled mineral water. Again it's not something big, just annoying, and we realised it only on our way home. Overall, our stay was okay.
The surroundigs are indeed nice, the quality and size of the portion of the breakfast and dinner was really good. The staff was kind and helpful.

HungaryThe building and the rooms could use a little renovation. It was a bit cold in the evening, we turned on the heating, but for some reason it remained a bit chilly.
The hotel is very well located, we could reach every important sights in 10-15 mins by car. It’s between the road and the railway tracks, but still very quiet. The hosts are really nice and helpful. Strong wifi, simple, but comfy rooms with gorgeous view on mountains. For dinner you need to choose between 2 main courses in advance, no buffet table.

United KingdomWe were taken aback to be asked to pay extra for our dessert at dinner as we thought it was included and would not have had it it we knew it was extra. Half board everywhere else on our trip included dessert. Also the menu for dinner was strange - egg and cumin soup , then what was described as a fusion menu - served on a buffet basis . Partly slovak menu and partly more international.
Welcoming host, nice big room with bath very welcome after hiking. Good parking right outside the front door. The service in the restaurant was helpful and polite and the breakfast had a good range of options with good coffee served how you asked for it.

HungaryThe hotel used to be a more fancy place, but the shine and glamour was somehow left in the past. The settlement is so small, that no shop is available. You need to take the elektricska or a car to a nearby town to buy anything.
The building has its own history. The room was practical, and clean. The bathroom was especially clean. The breakfast and dinner was plenty, there was always a vegetarian dish available. The terrace is nice and you can have your meals there. The host are really nice. The Tatras are super close.

GermanyVery bueatiful hotel in a very nice location. View on the mountains, the train just 3 mins from the hotel. The very friendly owner made my stay very pleasant. The breakfast and esoeciially the dinner was excellent. Each day a different menue with at least two different variations, and the quality of the food was way above average. Given the expensive parking fees in the Tatra towns, it is very convenient to have the train run every hour in both directions just behind the house, for a Euro or two. Tivoli is highly recommended and I will surely come again next year.

Czech RepublicI dont like being negative (mainly because the staff members were always smiling and seemed nice), but unfortunately, this is not a 3 star hotel. We are older couple from Czech republic and when we go to Slovakia, we expect the staff to speak Slovakian, which was not the case here. Everyone speaks English only, except one waiter. And unfortunately we do not speak English. Food was disaster. Breakfasts are OK, but dinner was absolutely inedible. Usually one tasteless sauce with two side dishes. We informed the waiter about the quality of the food, but nothing changed. During dinner, there is a fridge with desserts. We would expect it to be a part of dinner service, but on the end of our stay, we were charged for it. And we did not see any signs that it should be paid extra. Normally, I would not care to be charged extra, but two desserts I had were frozen in the middle, which suggests something. Also the hotel is very run down and area around the hotel is neglected. Floor is squeeking, stairs in front of the hotel are falling apart, some light switches were not working, children playground full of grass. I understood that the hotel has a new management and it needs to work really hard to keep up with local standards.
Very good location. Train is few minutes from the hotel. Staff members were nice and friendly.
