How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The hostel is in the downstairs of a hotel so it doesn't have any communal area or cooking facilities. For a dorm bed without access to a stove, it's expensive (but maybe the area is very expensive). There's a bar next door so some sound travels and there's lots of hotel staff coming and going. It's good as a base to explore the mountains but not for a hostel atmosphere
The staff were really friendly and kind. The beds were comfy, the bathrooms were always very clean and the location is great. There is a restaurant conveniently next door

The bathroom must be better equipped with hooks and rods to hang clothes. There are not many surfaces inside the bathroom where you can keep dry clothes. This must be surely improved. Also, the hostel does not have a coffee machine. It is very important to have a coffee machine (with pods, or filter). The staff are not very responsive to messages on Booking app. This must improve. The hostel is not value-for-money. I paid 42 euros/night, so I expected more.
The main selling point of this hostel is the location. It is very close to a lot of trails that are starting from Tatranska Lomnica. Also, very close to the train station. It is great for solo travellers. The staff is very friendly and they have option to store baggage at the reception desk for some time even after the check-out.

Kitchen was only fridge and kettle
I don’t know why some reviews are low – this hostel is in a convenient location, with a clean room and always clean bathroom. The receptionist, Alexandra, was exceptional! She was so nice and helped me plan my trip.

A bit pricey for a hostel
The person in the reception was nice and very accommodating. The room and restrooms were clean. There's a refrigerator where you could store your food. Apart from that, the location is strategic.

Not a proper kitchen, just a fridge and kettle. The fridge wasn’t initially plugged in so took a while to get cold. If there was one hob and a microwave would be great, so I could make my own coffee. Would justify the price a little more.
Comfortable beds, good bathrooms, lovely restaurant and bar within the hotel. Reception were very helpful during their operating hours. Note that this is a hotel with a few dorm rooms so this is not the usual backpacker vibe, which was a plus for me as it was very quiet.

I arrived very early at 5:30am and I had emailed the property several days before to ask if I could check in early because I needed to rest before a 20km hike. They told me if I paid 10€ extra I could check in early and in that case, they would leave a key in the security deposit box at the entrance. To my surprise, when I arrived there was no key. I called them and they apologized but the hotel was fully booked and told me to rest on the couch for 2 hours until someone arrived at the reception to check me in. This was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. As compensation, they offered me a complimentary 90 minutes wellness session which felt very nice after the hike.
Good location close to the train station and the bus terminal. Bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were both clean. Good and reasonably priced food at the restaurant. Friendly staff who let me keep my stuff there for a few hours after check out. Good value for money.

I've never seen anybody neither the checkin or checkout. No recepcionist. I had to call a number that cost me money.
I Was alone so it was so relaxed. Confortable and clean. Modern buildings.

I highly recommend this accommodation, the facilities are good, location is excellent. Mainly the lovely ladies that work there have a heart of gold and I am grateful for the whole experience. The ladies were helpful, kind and welcoming. Thank you for having me! ☺️

For 2 days there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. They have only 2 keys for a 4 person dorm, so when 2 people locked the door and forgot to leave the keys at the reception I sat outside the room and in the reception for 2 hours waiting. This is a bit unacceptable to not be able to get inside your own room.

When I arrived, I was informed that there were only two keys in a four-bed room - meaning I couldn't have the key on me. Most of the time there was no one at the reception, even during the hours she said she would be. There was no key to the showers, so it was impossible to lock. There are no facilities for cooking or preparing food in any way (microwave, etc.).
the location was great, and over all it was very clean and comfortable

€8 for breakfast seemed a little steep to me.
Great price for the location, right next to the train station. Easy access point to enjoy the High Tatras, for both skiers and walkers.
