We stayed one night at Villa Mari on our way to Croatia. The villa is located right by the ski slope with a lift, and in summer it’s a great spot to rent bikes or start hiking trips. The apartment we rented was quite spacious, with a large balcony and a well-equipped kitchen. The beds were very comfortable, so we had a great night’s rest. A special thank you to the lady at the reception, who kindly waited for us with the keys despite our late arrival.

This time, due to negative experiences in Graz, Austria, we decided to change the place where we spend the night on our way between Croatia and Poland. And we made a great choice. The hotel is located in a quiet and secluded area, surrounded by greenery. Our room and balcony were very spacious and well-equipped. Parking was available. The staff were friendly and helpful. We’d be happy to return to this place on our future trips.

I needed separate small room with a single bad. It was stated so in description and there was also photo. Unfortunately, all beds were in a single room. I called an owner but it was not possible to change apartment. Maybe not a big deal for owner but for me it was important.

The elevator only goes up to third floor. To get to our room we had to climb another set of steep stairs. The bathroom was sub par. It is big, but its amenities are still placed so that they interfere with each other. There is no shower, just a bath tub with no drip barrier or curtain. Tiles are cracked and to get hot water, it needs to run for a couple of minutes.

We paid eighty euros for two persons´ stay, which is not too much.

The condition of the room was far below what was shown in the listing photos. There were visible cables taped along the walls, hanging wires behind the TV, and even a hole in the wall above the door. The lack of sound insulation made the stay feel uncomfortable and restless. The poor sound insulation, caused not only by the hole above the door but by the thin walls aswell, made it easy to hear everything, even toilet flushes and running water from neighboring rooms. The curtains were dirty and not properly hung, one light fixture was damaged, and most concerning, the bed sheets were not only dirty but also torn ! The overall impression was one of poor maintenance and lack of care. What was even more disappointing is that we were traveling with our dog — and while we were charged an extra fee for bringing a pet, it strongly felt like we were placed in one of the worst rooms because of it. All guests, with or without pets, deserve a clean and safe room — especially when paying full price plus additional pet fees. Would not recommend this property, and I hope future guests with pets are treated more fairly.

I wanted a quiet room so i paid a little more for the room which was next to the garden, not street front. Unfortunately, we were above the "engine-house or power-house" which is installed outside and it was very loud all day long and at night also. The AC wasn't working, so had to leave the window open. But then there was the noise. The 2nd morning, gardeners were working around the hotel and started to mow the lawn for like 2 hours, early on the morning. Plus, they even scratched the front side of my car which was in the hotel parking lot outside, because there was no empty spot in the garage. The hotel didn't take responsibility for that. Inside our room, the AC wasn't working, dirty bath tub and broken shower head holder on the wall, broken towel holder in the toilet. And there was a narrow hole above the main door and between the ceiling. So the noise and light from the corridor came in our room easier.

The thermostat wasn’t working, we tried to put it off and nothing happened, there were 27degrees in the room while outside was only 20degrees during the day, therefore was impossible to sleep. Also the reception was unattended so we had nobody to help us during the night. This is not a 4 star hotel, more like 2 with indulgence. The beds were very small and uncomfortable. However the location was good and the surrounding area is definitely worth a visit.
