Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomStairs are very steep and would not suit young children or elderly.
Lovely property in a good location, ideal for bear watching.

SloveniaThe fact that the windows don’t have mosqiuito nets (we stayed there dureing a heath wave so it was impossible to sleep with windows closed - we had mosquito company all night..)

United StatesI am writing this to spare anyone else from disappointment. First, this property is not in Stari Trg pri Ložu. It is two or three small towns away in Kozarišče. (In other words, if you hoped to be near the bear watching tours or a restaurant or grocery store, that’s all in a different town about 10 minutes away by car.) Second, this property is not “in the neighborhood” of the local castle. That’s a solid 20-minute walk one way. Third, and most importantly, this property is dangerous for anyone who is older, has children, or just doesn’t like climbing ladders: the second floor, where the bedrooms are located, is up an extremely steep flight of half stairs. (See pics.) Getting luggage up and down is very difficult; even walking up and down safely is a challenge. At night, walking to and from the upstairs bathroom from one of the bedrooms in the dark is scary because even with the top gate closed, one could easily fall on (or in the case of a small child, slip down) the ladder-like steps. This was like sleeping in a converted hay loft (for hotel prices). I cannot recommend. If I were to do this trip again, I would stay in Stari Trg pri Ložu itself or in Cerknica.
Nice space. (But the "outdoor seating area" neglects to mention you will have farm equipment in your face.)

Polandwell, the stairs are a wooden version of the submarine stairs ;) very steep. I liked that, but can imagine that not everyone will appreciate its full flavour ;)
it is a very interesting house if it comes to the design. I really liked it. I was there only for one night, but it is well located, cosy place for a longer stay for nature lovers. Full set of home appliances, water pump in the garden, made it a perfect "reload" place during a bicycle race. hard to forget also the local food waiting in the kitchen.

SwitzerlandOnly for people that can climb a very steep stairway but otherwise perfect.
Very cozy, nicely equipped and decorated place in a quiet area of town. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay and it’s a good starting place to hike to Snežnik or visit Grad Snežnik in walking distance. Nataša provides you with fresh eggs or whatever is available from her garden and is very helpful with explanations.

BelgiumImmedietaly welcomed by our hosts and their lovely dog! Had a great conversation and learned a lot about Slovenia while our dogs played together. The house has everything you need and is priced very cheaply. 30min walk to Sneznik Castle if you take the detour via Smarata (highly recommended).

Czech RepublicEverything was perfect.
The whole house was really beautiful, clean and calm. Comfortable matress. Colors in the interior perfectly matched, looked exactly like in the pictures. Very kind host. Parking in front of the door. Just be careful at the stairs to the first floor, they are very steep. From the living room you have direct access to the terrace. Near the house there are many sights as Sneznik castle, Krizna caves and Cerknica lake.

United StatesWhat we didn't like? That we only stayed for one night! Hehe!
Wow! This beautiful old house is refurbished with attention to intricate details. It's got a well-equipped kitchen, a cozy living area featuring a vintage wood-burning stove, and a charming terrace. Additionally, it offers a shower, two toilets, and two bedrooms adorned in a quaint, nostalgic fashion. The accommodation was perfect for me, my boyfriend, and our furry friend. :) The location is surrounded by breathtaking nature - we've never encountered a place quite like this. Just a short 10-minute stroll away, you'll find the magnificent Sneznik Castle, and there are other splendid Slovenian treasures nearby as well. Our host, Natasa, was incredibly attentive, and generous, and made us feel very welcome. She even treated us to freshly brewed coffee and allowed us to harvest vegetables from her garden. A truly wonderful experience, and we cannot wait to return one day!

SloveniaJust a note: the stairs can be difficult for elderly people. However they do add character to the house.
We really enjoyed our stay at cherry house. It was a lovely cozy and clean home with some interesting antique items. Walking distance to beautiful Snežnik castle and quick driving distance to lake Cerknica. They also have a beautiful dog next door and some friendly cats.
