Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast was very basic if it hadn't been included in the price I would have gone out for breakfast.
Room was amazing, absolutely huge in with high ceilings. Location fantastic a few minutes into the centre of the city and the staff were lovely.

AustraliaThe room was very small with not much space for 2 suitcases plus there was mould in one corner of the room. My towel was very worn and had a large hole in it and wasn’t replaced the next day until I asked for a new one at reception.
The location was excellent, the bed was comfortable and breakfast was good

United KingdomThe breakfast was just fine, continental style offering with no cooked breakfast option. The whole place could do with a facelift, which is happening in parts. Some odd smells when using the lift and it's like a maze which is fine as long as you stick to your route.
Great location for a quirky historic hotel. If you like pretending to be an Archduke or Countess staying at your faded pile, this is the place for you. Our room was enormous with a lovely high ceiling and the beds were comfy. The staff were effective without being overly friendly.

United KingdomThere was no menu at breakfast and it was only on the last day we saw another customer have some scrambled eggs that we knew this was an option. My main problem was that we did not get the room we booked. We had booked a three bed apartment for my family of four (kids are boys 17 and 20 so need their own room each). But when we got there although the main room we were provided felt larger than we had booked, the apartment was only two bedrooms and they provided a separate room for the third bedroom. This is not what we had wanted as it split the family up. The hotel gave no explanation as to why they did this.
The hotel was in an amazing location right in the heart of town. The room was clean and facilities in the room was good.

AustraliaThe hotel has not fully realized its potential and has failed to capitalize on the beautiful building as it is in dire need of renovation and modernisation. The fridge in our first room didn’t close properly, in the second it was unplugged. There was mould in two of the three showers and the shower head in one bathroom falls off onto you as you shower. Each room offered different air conditioning or fans with varying levels of functionality. There were cables upon cables coming out of most outlets and the tv in one of the rooms didn’t work and after a 12 hour sightseeing day trip, we just wanted to unwind in bed and watch a movie. There are also issues getting from the lift to the reception area- if you happen to forget your key you become trapped behind a randomly placed glass door, which is annoying and also a fire hazard. In its current state and price point, I wouldn’t recommend staying here until the issues mentioned above are rectified.
Our room became water damaged after a rainstorm, which left it musty. The staff were very accommodating and offered us a small discount as well as free parking. We were moved into two adjoining rooms for our second night. The staff are friendly and the location is perfect. It is walking distance to the main square, restaurants and shopping districts. The building itself is beautiful with a wonderful central courtyard garden.

CroatiaThe room had no AC and while this was somewhat alleviated by a provided fan, you can still feel the difference. In addition, the breakfast is a pretty standard hotel breakfast but the food options are quite limited.
The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, pretty spacious and the bathroom was also nice.

United KingdomThe breakfast was very poor. We arranged car parking, the system wasn’t very good. As the hotel is in a pedestrian zone it meant having to call the hotel to get in through a barrier. We waited for 20 mins to then be told the fob to open the barriers wasn’t present, this meant waiting for another car to go through then hastily following it through. I just wondered why we could not have been given our own fob, bearing in mind the parking cost 35€ per day.
Lovely historical building with lots of charm. Location was perfect. The room was enormous.

United KingdomThe pillows were rather lumpy and uncomfortable. There was no air conditioning but even on a very hot day (29degrees) with the window open , the room was cool enough.
The location in the city centre was great and the building was lovely, quirky, with antique furniture and comfortable shared spaces. A pretty courtyard is full of plants. The staff were very nice.

United KingdomSome things in the room were not quite right e.g. a curtain off its track and a toilet flushing problems - things which can happen in an old hotel. The breakfast buffet was not really adequate and although the staff were wilingl to cook eggs, this was not offered to us, we had to ask - maybe because there were not enough staff on duty at breakfast time. On Sunday one young lady had to cook, serve coffee and wait at table. She did as well as she could!
Central for famous tourist landmarks and lots of cafe/restaurants/nice walks along the river. Staff were friendly and helpful though not particularly well-trained. The old-world style of the place and the spacious rooms. It was also great to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
