Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandChic Capsule Otel was under renovation and I got message couple days before that my accommodation was changed Bohemian. That place would also need some renovation. My personal tv didn't work and there was mould on the shower booths.
The location was nice and I ended to spend most of my time in China Town. The staff and vibe was nice too.

BelgiumToilets and showers were not separated.
De location was perfect for a trip to Singapore City! Restaurants everywhere, the Metrostation just around the corner and a big mall next to the Metrostation! The hostel was clean (the lady who cleans the beds and bathrooms really does a great job) and had very friendly people who ran the place. Don't forget the TV with headphones in the capsules! It's such an amazing idea! I would recommend it 100%!

PortugalI got bed bugs from this hostel. Contacted the property several times and no answer from them. So they’re only nice before you make the payment. Bed bugs are no joke and this people dont even reply. Be careful if staying here check the mattress before.

Taiwan1. Hostel should mention that If you want to PAY WITH CREDIT CARD, THERE IS AN EXTRA 3% FEE WILL BE ADDED ON. So in another way, they accpet cards, but you will pay extra fee. 2. There is only 1 toilet on the ground floor room. If it's occupied, there are 3 more on the 1st floor. If it's in the rush hour, you might have to wait. The toilet/shower on the 1st floor uses frosted glass for compartments. If you do care about privacy, this is not the hostel you should book.
Location is pretty good. Staff is friendly.

MalaysiaBlanket and towel not at the bed when check in. Staff said will bring now but nothing happen till I reminded her. The pillow need to be upgraded as it is too soft and when lie down, the head is almost level with the bed as if no pillow is under the head.
It is located at the Chinatown. Very convenient for food and shopping. MRT is closed by and easy for travelling.

United KingdomHowever, the cleanliness and quality of the bedding left much to be desired. The sheets had visible stains and felt old and dirty. Additionally, the towels had a strong, unpleasant odor, which was off-putting. The blanket was also quite old and of poor quality, making for an uncomfortable sleep.
The hotel is in an excellent location, making it convenient for exploring the area. On the positive side, the staff were friendly.

United StatesThe bed was horrible and gave me back pain. There’s a big indentation in the middle of the bed and other guests beds were similar. The sheets are stained. It gets a little loud in the dorm room and some people are messy and inconsiderate. A neighboring facility gets really loud too so bring earplugs.
Location was perfect and the staff were great! It was nice having a female only bathroom, but would’ve been better if we didn’t have to go into the coed bathroom to wash our hands and brush our teeth. Overall you can’t beat it for the price, especially in Singapore!

United StatesThere is no long handle bathroom floor sqeegee so very wet when using toilet. The night desk staff man, was nice, however, does not announce he coming into girls dorm. Another guest had only her underwear on & was headed to shower. When we ask why he doesn't announce "man coming in" so she can cover up, he says " it's OK I work here" . My opinion is if mixed dorm it's OK, if womens dorm he need to announce, wait half a minute (30 seconds) then come in. Some choose women dorm for this privacy reason (& other reasons) There is no place to store food. Refrigerator space a half shelf for all the guests to share.
Close to MRT, however MRT doesn't start until 6am, not early enough to meet 2 hrs early checkzin at airport so I had to not stay at hostel and sleep at airport. though I did shower there. (Thus my total 'stay' 13 hours) When I arrived staff very friendly, offer me cool drink & a place to rest at sister hostel across the street. I arrived early & able to easily explore Singapore bc they happily let me store bags without fee.
