Smalandsgarden is a really nice hotel set in a beautiful, quiet lakeside position. There was a feeling of total relaxation about the location and surrounding countryside. The hosts were very pleasant and engaging, volunteering ideas of places to visit on our stay. We wanted to swim, relax by the water, walk in the forests and enjoy nature on our stay. Smalandsgarden delivered on every level. We would definitely return.

Excellent hosts and excellent welcoming they go the extra mile Very nice breakfast especially the homemade rhubarb kind of jam Dinner we had the goat cheese salad and entrecôte. Loved it. Ingredients especially goat cheese salad was amazing. Room we had was very cute the bathroom is a little small (only fit 1 person). The lake in front of the hotel is very easy accessible and water was very clean. Had a nice swim session. Their is a small current to the right side of the jetty. Would suggest to have a flag so you can find back the starting position. Would recommend this hotel 100 percent.

Our cabin was located next to the parking lot. It would have been nice to have some trees or bushes, for more privacy.

The hotel is very nicely located next to the lake. You can spend an entire day sunbathing, swimming…. Very relaxing atmosphere!

Breakfast was great and had wonderful variety of goodies. Ann-Louise was an excellent host and provided us with many suggestions and recommendations. We only wish we had known more because we would have stayed longer and explored the area.

Everything was perfect.

What did i like? Everything. Owner was such a sweetheart and so friendly. Breakfest was perfect. Landscape is incredible. Wonderfull place. Only negative was that we couldn't be there more than one night.

Truly there is nothing negative, The only thing I would say is i didn’t find the bed to be very comfortable but that could be personal choice. The bathroom was also small so I could see that being tough for an extended stay. May not be the same in all rooms.

Beautiful location! Adorable rooms! Owner was very communicative in the lead up to our visit as I had a few questions. Very friendly staff on-site who gave us many recommendations for the rest of our journey to Stockholm. This would be the perfect place to disconnect for a few days in any season!

Nice waterside location and very service minded staff. 30 min from Jönköping and much more relaxing and cheaper than staying in Jönköping. There are no shops nearby. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was good, but a bit expensive.

Beautiful, peaceful location. The clean, quaint room had everything we needed and wanted, even a small fan. Very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The dinner was excellent.

Room was as basic as could, be but when compared to the price, it was comfortable enough.

Very good actual restaurant. The atmosphere in the communal spaces, garden, restaurant, lobby, beach and terrace was 10/10.

I loved the locations, the staff, the food,...nature everything! Lots of nature to explore and tourist sites to visit. The breakfast that was included was amazing. We also hosted a last-minute dinner for friends and family, +10 people. The experience was great, the employees were lovely and accommodating, and the food was amazing! A night to remember!

Of course an old house is not equipped with huge bathrooms or other amenities, but we did not care or expect any, there was nothing we did not like.

One of the nicest places ever. The location is amazing, the hotel is a lovely old building. Room was small but cozy and clean. Food was great, they use a lot of local and fresh products, food was very tasteful and there were 3 alternatives for vegetarians. Dogs are welcome, which was really nice. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely come again!

EVERYTHING. Immaculate, beautiful stuga, best dinner we’ve eaten in Sweden, wood-fired sauna by the lake; the owners are very friendly and welcoming. Our 2nd stay over 8 years.

This picturesque hotel is a must-go when you drive through Sweden. The owners are the most warm-hearted, and the cabin in which we stayed, melted our hearts by the cozyness. The village is quite small, but when looking for a superb place to recharge yourself, visit Smålandsgården.
