Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaThe beds don't have curtains. It's in two different buildings which can be a bit inconvenient especially if it rains but nothing too serious. It's a bit pricey but it's Sweden so I guess it makes sense.
The room was reasonably big with 4 beds. Socket, shelves and light near bed. Nice big lockers locked by room keycards. Kitchen is very well equipped and big. Everything was nice and clean. Staff was very kind and helpful. The sauna is a big unusual plus for a hostel.

United KingdomThe top bunk bed was not well suited to a taller person and the hostel was on the expensive side. I discovered I had paid a lot more than some other guests.
Great facilities and social atmosphere in the hostel, was able to do laundry with ease and met plenty of other solo travellers.

AustraliaIf booked as a hostel, you are expected to make your own bed, and clean your room when you check out including stripping beds (fair enough), vacuuming, and taking out rubbish bags even when they aren't completely full. They come through every day to check and clean anyway but charge you extra if you don't clean up after yourself. Good incentive to be tidy but wastes a lot of rubbish bags and vacuuming when you're checking out of a room full of people is odd. Unfortunately seemed to frequently have no toilet paper in the shared toilet/shower stalls. Had a few people ask me to pass them some. Awkward shaped lockers that didn't shut well so only put my small backpack in there with a lock on my zips.
Comfortable beds and super friendly staff. The sauna being free for parts of the day was awesome. The location is good, close to restaurants, tram and bus lines and easy to get into Haga or the Göteborg city from there. Breakfast was pretty decent, typical Scandinavian style. Lockers provided and ended up with a room upgrade. This hostel is sustainable so they've got lots of things in place to help the environment too. Great privacy and fall rails on the top bunks, bathroom and kitchen facilities.

IrelandBathrooms were hit and miss. If you were lucky to use after the cleaners, they were fine. If not, they weren't great.
Very nice location. 10 minutes on tram from central station. Beautiful park and museum closeby. Nice buffet breakfast. Beautiful Italian restaurant down the street and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Supermarket and chemist on the same street.

TurkeyThe room was a bit small for three people, but still sufficient. It’s close to the tram station. There’s a luggage room available, and they allow guests to spend time in the common area after check-out.

HungaryThe bathroom could have been a little more clean. There is internet, but not secure, so working from there might be a problem for some.
The hostel is very nice located, close to public transpot, a huge amazing park, and also 10-15 m walk from center. Bathrooms are great, a toilet and a shower in one place, so no need to share them. And they have many of them. So super comfy for a hostel. I had a private room, that was comfy, with a comfy bed. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Shared kitchen is big, well equipped. They have some events for people staying there, like pub crawls and so.. Washing and drying is possible and smooth, also saw ironing possibilities.

ItalyThe price is lower than average in the city, but still overpriced, considering you have to clean the room yourself before checkout, and bathrooms are shared. The bathrooms could have been cleaned a bit more often.
There are many bathrooms with showers and we never had to wait to use them. The room was clean when we arrived and so were the common areas. The beds were comfortable, and all the essential stuff was present in the room. The room and rest of the areas were also well heated. Staff was very friendly.

SwedenSince I arrived late, I asked if I could use the sauna on a different day for a small price, was told 100 kr, then when I arrive they asked me for 400 instead, even though they had written a note. All these years, I have been a returning customer. Unfortunate

United StatesMy room was in the second building which was a little confusing to get to. Once we figured it out all was well.
The room was a good size for two people. There were outlets and lights by each of the beds which was great. The whole place was super clean and I appreciate their commitment to sustainability. The hostel is super close to a bus stop and a pretty good place in town. The staff was incredibly kind! I went on a bar crawl with a wonderful Finnish staff member (so sorry I forgot her name!). She was SO kind and made sure we were all safe, definitely the highlight of our hostel stay :)

BulgariaThere were no sweet pastries at breakfast... I didn't expect this from a hostel in Sweden :D Please note that the hostel is located on a small hill - if it is difficult for you to climb up, you will need to find a workaround.
Excellent staff, well-equipped shared kitchen, enough toilets and showers in the blocks. I stayed in a room with two beds - the room is small but well equipped, there is even a private hair dryer. The convenient location of the hostel is close to a grocery store, several cafes and restaurants and a public transport stop. You can also quickly walk to the Haga area and further to the center.

IndonesiaTotally my fault for not expecting the place to be on a slope. Quite difficult to drag a large suitcase up that hill. Don't think it's made for a suitcase traveler (at least someone with one that is as large as mine).
The overall facilities and services are surprisingly better than the price range.
