The offerings from comfortable rooms to food service to the spa amazing restaurant and evening entertainment all rolled up in on place is so unusual.

The spa building offers excellent access to spa services. The facilities were extremely clean and service staff were always available and eager to provide services.

Over the years (I have stayed here many many times) they have cut down on smaller items like some breakfast items and items in the minibar. It gives the sense of a downward spiral.

The parking lot outside was very overcrowded, with one free space under a large tree where cormorants hang out at night. In the morning the car looked like it had been bombarded with feces.

Timber Sauna was not really worked correctly, there are cracks on the wall, where the air can come in. On the second floor of the spa building, there is a ice machine which is really noise, and we did not have hot water compared to the main building where everything was perfect.

Our first accommodation has been cancelled by the Host in Öland, so we have booked in the last minute Skansen. Finally we have spent there 2 nights because we wanted to look around in Öland and enjoyed the stay as well. Great size of room, helpful staff and beautiful longe area. Breakfast had wide range of choice, with gluten free and vegan options. Animals are welcomed, some treats have been served to our dog. Based on our complains, we got small amount of refund, which was a correct attitude.

We were woken up in the middle of the night by fire alarm which was due to some technical issue. My son got very stressed. We spent 30 minutes outside the building. The usual way from our floor to outside was closed, there were no marks about the emergency exit door in it. We were confused. In the morning there were no explanations or excuses provided.

As stated this is a hotel that tries to be "upscale" but it's not. I booked a budget room (if you call 2000SEK to be budget...!) with plans on staying for at least a week. Since the room came with a somewhat hefty price and is located in Sweden I assumed that it would be a decent room but it was terrible. The small room comes with extra beds (that I didn't asked for or have booked) and contains a long hallway a cramped bath (sink so small that you barely can wash your hands ) so the actually room you stay in barely has room to put your feet on the floor. What's not mention either is that the room is situated over the kitchen and eaven if you open the windows and start a fan it consistent is +30C in the room at all times! When I complained about this I got offered a room upgrade for 600SEK ,so I could have a better fan. What a joke! I think it's horrible that they actually call this a Hotel room and that they feed upon unknowing tourists that book this room and get their holiday ruined. Also the parking was bad,with loads of bird droppings and the breakfast was mediocre with few things to select from. Also the tables where dirty. Its a shame. But maybe you get better service if you book a more expensive room.. I surely hope so!
