We booked this hotel specifically because of the pool. Since the pool was fully booked in the evening, we delayed our departure just to use it in the morning. We reserved it for 9:00, but when we arrived, it was still being cleaned by a robot. We went to the reception several times, and they said someone would come — but no one showed up until 9:30. That left us with very little time to use the pool before check-out. It was disappointing, especially since the pool was the main reason we booked the hotel.

Location was not great in terms of piece and quiet..also, some very sketchy people are rolling around next to the gas station smoking weed and getting drunk.. its exactly on a highway. Super noisy 24/7.... if it wasnt for the sound proof windows, i would get crazy listening to all the cars passing....... The weather was warm, so in the morning we need to open the windows to refresh the room and then all the noise from the highway is there, couldn't hear each other in the room...

Great breakfast ! Comfy beds and internal pool and sauna were good enough. Overall the place is really good for the price !

Staff at reception/bar were very slow and their English isn't very good. There were very few options at the bar. I ordered a gin and tonic as a night cap my first night and had to teach the staff member to make it. The following nights I was unable to buy a gin and tonic as the gin bottle (yes singular) finished and they didn't have another. the hotel lobby was very crowded as the hotel was pretty much full I assume so people that wanted to unwind after the day with a drink or two had to stand or go to their rooms. Not saying it's a huge deal and it certainly didn´t ruin my stay but I thought it was very strange as it is a big hotel chain. The stay wasn't cheaper then the down town hotels so I had higher expectations.

Breakfast was fine with good options but it was the same every day. Room was small but didn't bother us very much as we spent little time there. The hotel is situated a bit far from the city center but public transport is very good so it's easy to get around town.

Location is convenient when you are just passing by ( our case, we needed something close to the highway) but for a city break, this would be a bit off.

Breakfast! Scandic has great buffets and this one did not disappoint either. We stayed only for one night, but the staff was really friendly / checked in late in the evening. There are nice kids areas, which our 4yo really liked. Rooms are spacious and with everything one needs.

The parking was additionally paid, the pool was not that clean, also the room was not well ventilated, plus the refrigerator was not available inside room.

Too complicated for simple things: Card for elevator, qr-code for scheduling breakfast, paper for car parking but you can't use the card to open the open parking,, breakfast with so many options and digital tablets that you can't even find simple milk. Why not just keep it simple? Modernity for the sake of modernity isn't practical.

The 2 first rooms were smelling, and there were dirty spots.

I stayed at this hotel 3 times before. We had to change rooms 2 times to find a clean room. Likely the staff were understanding, and helped us.

We stayed for 2 nights in 2 different types of rooms. Queen room was awesome! Standard room was okay. Breakfasts and spa with hot sauna and pool were incredible good! Also we requested a crib and there were no problems with it. All in all, we liked the stay and the time we spent in Scandic Backadal.

Parking can be better and the parking fee is way too high for that location. The entry and exit to the parking is not automated. Before check-in, One has to go to the reception to collect the card for the parking garage. The room is very basic for Scandic standards.

In restaurants all seats was very dirty with multiple old stains, restaurants coffee taste very strange. Additionally, in four star hotel room did not have a coffee machine and bottle of water, no bathrobe and sleepers. Finally, my room has not been clean during my three nights stay. Very unpleasant feeling.
