How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat location, breakfast was varied. Free coffee and tea always available at reception.
The curtains on the window are basically non existent. Bring an eye mask if you have trouble sleeping with light in the room. Also, it made it a bit uncomfortable and weird to get changed with the light on because the curtains are clearly see through and the window faces other windows in the courtyard.

Verified reviewMiddle-Class Hotel in Vasastan. The metro is just around the corner so it’s easy to get around the city. This is an old townhouse which is nicely renovated. The rooms are small, the bathroom tiny. The staff is friendly and there’s free tea and coffee available And: There was a Jazz-Session at Hellsten - the partner hotel across the street - on Saturday evening that was great!
Breakfast was very crowded so we had to sit outside in the yard which was a bit chilly.

Verified reviewThe location of the hotel was excellent with a train station in a 2-minute walking range. In fact, the Gamla stan was reachable even by walking (30 minutes). The hotel was clean with polite staff.
We had been placed at the top floor of the hotel, so the roof was cutting space from the room. It was not unpleasant, but there were moments where it felt that the ceiling was too close. In addition, the room was a bit old, so a renovation would be a thing to be considered in my opinion. Concerning the breakfast, it was OK. It had all the necessary things, but the number of refills could be higher. The breakfast was served until 10.

Verified reviewThe concierge on 20 aug evening was very attentive and friendly. Thank you so much. Breakfast is included with soft boiled eggs. My room was facing the yard so it was very quiet.

Verified reviewMe and my partner really enjoyed our stay at REX. The room was smallish but cozy and there was extra room in the bathroom to put our luggage (a funny nook where you didnt have to worry about anything getting moist). The breakfast was very diverse - many options to choose from and if you manage to get the timing right, nothing runs out :). We also loved the location, there were some nice eatieries nearby, very quiet and easy public transport to everywhere we wanted to go.
There was a balcony on our window, which we were not allowed to climb onto. That meant that we effectively had no window. I feel like we should have been warned...

We had the room to the street, so we had a lot of noise because of party's, Jazz, cars and so on.

Verified reviewClean, tidy. Good bathroom. Very good breakfast, hot and cold choices. Decent size rooms.Liked the age of surroundings . Cobblestones through to breakfast area.
Such a soft uncomfortable bed and pillows. Two very bad night sleeps. For me it was a long way from the centre and waterfront. Train close, but not direct to tourist area, needed to change to tram....easier to walk, but a fair distance.

Verified reviewGreat place to visit Stockholm. The hotel is located close to an underground station (Radmansgatan) and many restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. The hotel offers a large breakfast buffet including warm and cold dishes, various breads, cereals, fruits,... Within a walking distance you can reach many restaurants and bars in Drottninggatan and the observatory park.

I stayed in the garden room which was very small. The bathroom was tiny so ok for small people. There was a smell from the drain and the water drained slowly. Also the windows didn’t have a safety catch so you didn’t feel safe to keep them open at night.

An air conditioner in the room would have been nice, it was really hot outside (which I was told was a surprise for them also).

Verified reviewThe standard of cleanliness, the comfort of the bed and the choice at breakfast were all top notch. The staff were very helpful, particularly after a flight delay and a very late check in! Even without air conditioning, the room was comfortable at night in the middle of summer. The hotel is in a very nice area and next to a metro station that will have you anywhere in Stockholm in minutes. For one person, my room was ideal.
The walls were a bit scuffed so the room could do with a fresh coat of paint but it's a minor quibble about an otherwise lovely stay.
