How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

You need a smart phone and wifi in order to receive a message on the morning of arrival telling you the code in order to obtain your key. This made me apprehensive.
The location is close to the mine that is undermining an increasing part of the city. Therefore it is in modular blocks capable of being dismantled and moved if need be. Some nearby buildings have already been cleared or moved. This is a peculiar facet of Kiruna: the mine gives and the mine takes away. Some similar blocks nearby are owned by LKAB. I liked the kitchen facilities and the possibilty to bring in, cook and store what you need in several fridges. there are also washing machines and dryers. I also like the no boots rule within the building.

Cleanness of the common areas could be better.
Kiruna City Rooms is located relatively close to the old center of Kiruna, however far from the new center (Kiruna Centrum). It is clean and comfortable for a short stay (plus very warm which is great when you take the Arctic weather in Kiruna into consideration).

Snack automat was out of order and there was some food let to rot in the fridge.
This one was interesting place to stay, outside of city center so it was nice and quiet

The apartment is located in the old center and some of the stores in the area are permanently closed. Also, the vending machines did not work.
The location was easy to find and check-in was effortless. The apartment was clean and quiet.

The location is not the best, a bit far to public transport and other services.
You get what you pay for: a small room with a toilet and shower. There is a shared kitchen and Lounge area. Good for a quick stay or for price conscious people.

Sadly the keys were not available at the agreed check-in time. We had to contact Booking.com to get the staff to come and give it the key
It was clean and as I just wanted somewhere to sleep and have a shower it was really good. The kitchen was well spaced and equipped.

Monta charging stations were turned off the grid so i could not charge my electric car here.
Simple room with soft bed and warm shower, all that a solo roadtripper needed!

I was only a bit disappointed about the information given in the website which says that the hostel is 0.6 miles away from the city center but not specifying that it was the old center, before moving part of the city! As a matter of fact, the hostel is approx. 6 kilometers from real downtown. Unfortunately, with this wrong information, one might decide to travel by train but then one would spend 23 euros to go downtown by taxi, only one way. If you travel with your own car, it wouldn't be a problem at all. However the premises are clean and well kept. I will go again but with my car.
The rooms with toilet and shower and the common kitchen are ok. The premises are clean and well kept.

Public transit in the city itself is a bit limited, making it a bit difficult to go out and about
Cleanliness, value for money, facilities (though I only stayed one night, if I stayed for longer it would be really cost-efficient as it had extensive kitchen facilities that would allow me to prepare my own food)

The window did not close completely but not really a problem as room was warm. A little difficult to find.

The initial key code given had no key available, so it took some 20 min to sort it out with the support phone operator in the middle of the night.

Doors were quite difficult to open due to the subsistence in the area.
The room was cozy and the property had all the required amenities such as kitchen with cooking equipment and lounge.

The bathroom/toilet area is really really small.
There was coffee, it is close to Kiruna Bus Station, the instructions was 100% spot on and correct. Really well organized.

It got a bit cold in the morning in the room and the shower didn’t have warm water so I had to take two cold showers.
It was at a decent location, pretty good price for the room and it was comfortable and warm at night.
