We enjoyed our short stay with Jämteborg. Located on a very quiet street in the city center, an old but lovely building with its own spirit. However it's not a luxury hotel. Excellent stay for a 3 star hotel.

BulgariaI booked the hotel for my husband and here is his experience. He was accommodated in a facility opposite the hotel. This was mentioned in booking and actually he liked it. The room was on the first floor and the facility offers a fully equipped kitchen for common use. He was offered a very good dinner with local food which was a nice surprise. The breakfast was very good. Last day he had to check out very early in the morning (5 am) and was provided with tasty sandwiches prepared and stored in the refrigerator. The staff was helpful and responsive. Another advantage of this hotel is the free parking. The location is excellent, just few minutes from the top center.

United KingdomBathroom was a little basic - wetroom with a shower curtain. A chipped tile next to the plughole detracted from the feel. I've stayed in hotels with more modern/luxurious bathrooms. I suspect it had not been redecorated/refurbished as recently as the bedroom. A takeaway breakfast was provided but it was not the most generous: a small carton of orange juice, hardboiled egg. a yoghurt (but no spoon) and a small sandwich of seeded/fruit bread with cheese.
The wonderful welcoming staff elevated what might otherwise be an unremarkable hotel to a memorable one. While on the bus to Ostersund just before 8 pm, they phoned me to say that their dinner buffet finished at 8 and asked if I'd like them to put some food aside for me. I'd totally forgotten that a dinner buffet was included in my room rate. Other hotels might simply have said tough luck if I arrived after they stopped serving, but instead I was given dinner on arrival at 8.30. Not the finest meal I had in Sweden but still a nice touch. The lovely receptionist (whose English was flawless, and whose name I didn't catch) recommended a local beer to enjoy with dinner - the most reasonably priced beer I had in Sweden (though still expenive by UK standards). She showed me the fridge where my packed breakfast would be found in the morning (as I was leaving before they officially started serving breakfast). The William Morris wallpaper in the bar/restaurant area was a nice change from Scandi-minimalist design! Excellent location handy for both the bus and train stations in Ostersund.

United KingdomI asked for a quiet room and was given one facing a busy street. The double glazing is so bad I might as well have had the window open. Lads in cars with stereo at maximum volume going past the window at 02:30am. People walking back from the centre at 3am clearly heard through the supposed double glazed window. NEVER stay there on a Friday or Saturday, may be OK other days. I had a long journey with no sleep the next day. No one asked if everything was OK when I left.
I was able to check in early, which was a great help. All staff very friendly. WiFi was good as was the breakfast selection. Free parking and close to the centre.

Everything! If you are reading this review, STAY HERE. This young man grew up in this town. Worked in this hotel as a kid, his parents owned it. He moved to the USA to work with Wells Fargo Bsnk. His mom is retiring, so he decided the financial business was not for him and opted to move back here and take ownership and run this hotel. Wow, in my travels I never see this, hotels like this are bought out by corporations or foreign entities when something like this happens. EVERYTHING was excellent. Rooms are updated, plenty of parking, breakfast and staff outstanding. So please, patronize this young man and his business.

GermanyStayed on a Saturday night in room 206 facing both streets in front of the hotel (see picture). Seems to be a popular spot for drag racing and extrem loud car stereo show off. No sleep until 4 am. At 6:30 am public street cleaning on a sunday morning!
