Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAt check-out and breakfast time you could easily spend 15 mins waiting for a lift! Remember, there are 29 floors. The beds have very thin mattresses that just by laying on them, move over the edge of the bed.

SwedenThe sofabed that the kids were sharing was not comfortable. The room wasn't very well cleaned. The bathroom had marks on the floor. There were only 2 bath towels and we were 4 people. Only half a toilet roll in the bathroom so we rang reception and asked for both extra towels and toilet paper, but we only got sent the towels so we went to a nearby shop to buy toilet rolls ourselves. The lifts were crowded in the mornings with long waiting times. Sometimes more than 10 minutes so out of 3 days we only ate breakfast one day because of the hassle with the lifts.
The convenient location to Liseberg.

United StatesThe only -small- complaints I’d have: Signage! What is where, how, why? It took us quite a while to figure out what is where. Upper house, who is that and where? Why would I need it? Another Example: our elevator in tower-3 had signs that the roof-top restaurant (and bar) would be on floor 27. Well, we couldn’t get up to 27, the button didn’t light up. We tried tower 2 - same experience. Finally in tower 1 we saw a sign that you have to take an “special” elevator (glass enclosed, outside the building) to ride up to that restaurant. Same for breakfast: tower 3 elevator says “floor 2” on the elevator buttons, when in effect it was on floor 27. You get the idea. I’m sure we still missed a few venues/restaurants/locations. But - it makes exploring the hotel a fun adventure : )
We enjoyed our stay at Gothia Towers. It’s a mammoth hotel complex (3 towers with 25-29 floors each), several restaurants, etc. For a building this size/tall, the elevators were totally up to the task (5 main and 2 exterior in each tower). A delight after often having to wait forever for overloaded infrastructure in other places. The mini bar was fully stocked, including snacks etc. Staff was super-friendly. Parking (we arrived by car) was very well documented by the hotel front desk - however it’s in an adjacent garage building, connected by a long -long- walkway. So if you have tons of luggage, I strongly suggest to unload first while checkin in and then park the car, else you schlepp/roll/carry all your gear over several walk ways from garage to tower 1-2-3. But it’s all indoors, though. Our room had a great view (we did pay extra for “high floor”) and modern, clean and very efficient furniture. Hardly any complaints - perhaps the price is a bit high, especially if you pay for high-floor/view.

United StatesWhen we drove in, the staff downstairs didn’t know about Upper House (I guess they were from Gothia Towers). We think that they should have a Upper House staff member downstairs. We had to self park our car, find the reception (on the 25th floor), and get someone to help with our luggage and park the car. Also good to know that they charge quite high rates for car parking. We were also a bit disappointed by the spa. The facilities are great, but the service was below average. In general, our stay was great, we think that for such boutique hotel, a bit more is excepted.
The rooms were modern and clean with large windows. I loved the kids fun zone downstairs. Also the restaurant Heaven 23 had great service and good food with amazing views. The breakfast had a very calm atmosphere, and one of the servers there was exceptionally caring and she actually made our stay much more enjoyable because of her warm welcome and exceptional service.

SwedenIt was one of us that discovered the rooftop breakfast by chance. It would be good to be informed of it at arrival. The hairdryer in the room was not good, which does not reflect the quality of the hotel.
I liked that we were let into the room before 15.00. The room had a ironing board and iron and that was super helpful. The hotel was overall clean and spacious, and we took advantage of the roof top breakfast and spa.
