Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaWe had the room on the lower floor — people walking in the room above were very well hearable. The bathroom is okay, but not great, which is understandable given the age of the house. For a bed and breakfast, it felt a bit strange to just receive a code for the room and never meet the owners or any staff.
It was a great experience to live in an original old house. The location is great and it's very quiet at night as there are no cars around. The breakfast in the nearby coffee shop was good and also a great experience. Parking just a few minutes away for 50 SEK per day.

SwedenDue to the nature of the building it understandably lacked some comforts, ceilings were low and no air-conditioning. No staff on site makes it more like an Airbnb. Paid parking.
Amazing location in the middle of the old town. Looks were clean and cozy inside one of the old buildings. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Nice and calm in the evening. Flexible check in due to yeh digital processes. Make sure to wander the surroundings and check the free museums!

United StatesOur room as small but had all the comforts we needed. It is a bit annoying to get to with rolling suitcases but totally worth it once you get there!
Breakfast was great! It was fun to eat in the cafe before everything opened. The food was delicious and varied which was nice. The room was really cute and quaint. The location was amazing! Being able to wake up in a turn of the century village in Sweden was so unique!!! The village was so lovely to explore. Check in and out was a breeze. Beds were comfortable.

SwedenWonderful surroundings to live inside an open air museum! The rooms are nice and good beds. It was a worry with only one toilet in the corridor to share with the other rooms but it was never a problem. A short walk from the parking and a narrow staircase up to the room is not a perfect fit for people with disabilities, but other wise it was perfect!

United StatesIf you have rolling luggage you’re going to be carrying it.
It really was nestled in an open air museum. Even still the place was quiet and quaint. The rooms were spacious and extremely comfortable and i loved the option to have my morning coffee in teacups.

SwedenLow ceiling height, but that's because the houses are really old and really nothing the owner can do about that. Didn't try the shower so can't comment on that. It's in the outskirt of the city so easiest to get there by own car.
Very fun location in the old town, felt like taking a step back in time and waking up 100 years in the past. Very easy and hassle free check in. Long and relatively large bathroom with a heated towel rack.

AustraliaIt was tricky with the car to drop off the luggage with restricted timeframes and park away from the accommodate. The code systems on the door was effective once we worked it out. The single beds were a little short and the shower pressure needs to be looked at.
Such a quirky location within an open air museum. Felt very private. The room had lovely decor

BrazilWe were in the hotel for just one night. You enter the room with a code. We didn't have contact with the staff. The breakfast was in a nearby cafe. It is difficult to rate the hotel in these circunstances.

SwedenBreakfast a bit limited. The system of codes to get into the room is a bit complicated - I really understand they have to save on staff by not having a receptionist. Main door and room door seem to be two separate systems so that you need two codes. You need to be sure your mobile has some charge when you arrive.
Location is perfect in the old quarter. Breakfast was just OK, but in a lovely room with old furniture. The entire building has quite some charm and is very cozy - this is a special place. The possibility of booking with free cancellation was highly appreciated.

GermanyThe apartment was very nice and super clean. The shared bathroom was also very clean and always free. Parking was easy and cheap. Opening the door with Telkey did work fine based on good explanations. The breakfast in the Dahlbergs Cafe was extraordinary good: such a nice cafe with its old interior and lovely owner, it was a pleasure to be there. The location in the middle of Gamla Linkoping was great: we visited the museum next day, very interesting. We can highly recommend Hilmas B&B, was a extra ordinary stay during out Sweden tour.

FinlandIt is good to know that rooms are not very sound-proof why earplugs may come handy. We would have appreciated instant coffee in the room and proper, bigger coffee cups or mugs. Some milk in the fridge woild be a nice addition. There was a small kitchenette in the landing and one would appreciate it to bee better equipped with proper dishware and cutlery as one may need to have a snack in the room if one doesn’t want to drive into downtown. However, we could borrow dishes from the cafe. 🙂
A very pretty and cosy B&B inside a charming open-air museum area with cobblestone streets and old buildings. Parking takes place in a low-cost parking lot a couple of hundred metres away. Payment worked wellwith an Easy-park app. The area is very quiet in the evenings, which of’course also means that there are no services available. Our room Agnes was romantic and pretty, spacious enough and located on the top floor. Beds were comfy and there was a small seating area. Breakfast was served in their cafe very nearby and had everything we needed. The closest supermarket is some 500 metres away, open late everyday. The city centre is some 2 kms away. We really enjoyed the lively and pretty Linköping.
