    - very soft mattress, could do a little bit of renovation (although it's not as bad as presented by others IMO)

    - absolutely delicious breakfast, nice historic setting, decent clean rooms.

There was no aircon in the room and it was very warm the two nights we stayed. We left both window halves wide open but then you hear the noise from the highway instead. It wasn’t a lot of traffic at night so that was good.

Very nice surroundings and friendly staff

Clogged shower drain, apart from that not much else.

Very calm and remote area away from city and industry. Genuine vintage buildings with lots of authenticity. If you want to get back in time - this place is for you!

The standard of the apartment could have been better and did not match the photos. Especially, the bathroom was not the best. The showerhead could use replacing and the toilet lid fell off. It got hot when the weather was warm, so fans would have been good to have. The dusting could have been more thorough. We had to request all in-room services. It would have been nice if the garbage was emptied and new towels were provided on a regular basis.

Great and charming setting, with the historical buildings and wonderful park/garden area. Perfect location for visiting Skara sommerland. Good breakfast and good food at the resturant. Very friendly staff. Spacious apartment. Good outdoor space for the kids to play in.

We stayed in this hotel in February. On the day, we had a lot of snowfall. The next morning everything was covered by the snow and it was lovely. It was very reasonable and met my expectation accordingly.

The rooms have not been renovated for a very, very long time. What we stayed in was more akin to a hostel than a hotel, but the price made it totally worth it. If it was more though, it would have been problematic. It was also not so clean, lots of dust and mold in the shower. The walls and floors are very thin and you can hear everything in the building - ok this is an old building and some of this should be expected but... because the price is so low and it is close to a main highway - it seems to attract guests that have no regards for other, yell and party late, have to be asked multiple times to keep the noise down... finally got quiet at around midnight after a call to the staff for help. There is no staff on site in the "hotel" building after hours. Hopefully it is not like this all the time, but it was when we were there. Nice place but be aware it is more hostel than hotel.

The location and buildings are amazing if you like history. Really incredible old buildings and location is very convenient to E20, Skara and Skövde. The onsite restaurant is lovely and the food is decent, probably even better during peak season, price is a bit high but you make up for it on room prices which, at least off season, were extremely low!

Historical Location in a Rural Swedish Setting

I liked the location in the middle of the blissful countryside. The peaceful accommodation, in the former bishop's residence, though quite basic, was very comfortable for a good night's sleep. The building itself was of historical interest and worth staying in. The staff were also very helpful, and the fact we could also eat an evening meal in the restaurant at reasonable prices was a bonus. It was good value for money.

Perfect little hotel, "Kulturmärkt" which means they can't change a lot of the house since it's protected. The breakfast is really good (love the waffles) and abundant. The rooms are old style with birds nest windows but the ambiance on the surrounding makes the perfect. The bed is soft and cosy. The restaurant itself is worth a visit alone, the quality on the food is up there next to any classier and fancier and more expensive restaurants in the big cities. The chef tries to use the local and also the season ingrediants and they turn out delicious food for modest prices. The staff is friendly and attentive to keep you happy and satisfied, while you are there get to know a little bit of the history of the place that started in the way back in the 400 and from roughly 1000 it started it's form up until 1900 when it sort of had it's last major reconstruction. It has a lot of historical connections to both royalty and to the church. I can really recommend the place if not for the food itself. Try the Toast skagen, The Bookmaker or their speciality Stjarneskud... perfect with a beer or two. Nice and quiet surrounding but still close to the main road without it is disturbing the peace. They also have a sauna and a barrel tub.

We booked a twin room but got a double bed. The room was so small we could hardly turn around. There were stains on the walls (mold). There were torn paper signs on the door. The room appeared shabby. Reception was supposed to be open until 23 pm. We arrived one evening at around 22:55 and everything was locked.

Really bad cleaning of the rooms, not vacuumed, not functional lighting and a lot of extension cables (for the non functional lights). Dirty chair and long hairs on the tables. Crossed my mind that they had not even bothered to change the sheets, or bothered to wash the extra cushions on the bed, but I came there with my son after a full day of activities, so would not make a bad scene about it at the hotel. They were fully booked. The Wi-Fi was not functioning. Pretty location, but really poor handled when it comes to maintenance. Sad to see a pretty location like that.

    Good location and decent breakfast.

The staff could have been more welcoming. The facilities were old and not well-maintained — peeling paint inside the rooms, for example. There was a very large contingent of motorcyclists staying there at the same time, and they dominated the premises.

The location was rural and very pleasant. The breakfast was quite adequate, with enough variety to please anyone.
