How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Our rooms were not in the main house. It felt more like a homestay than a high-end hotel. The hotel sauna was lukewarm and the pool water was cold.

A bit nasty to walk over the street between the main building and the side building, lots of stairs on a narrow corr up to some of the rooms. A bit away from the main city centre and the cruise ships.
Generally speaking the hotel was inviting and of a 4 star. The rooftop restaurant/bar is great! The blond curly lady at the reception desk was very helpful. But all the staff were polite. The breakfast was good. The spa a bit old, but useful.

Only one worker was at the front desk for check-out, and you have to wait for some time
The hotel is like a maze to discover. Morning buffet and the bar at the terrace are super nice.

Unfortunately, the room was not properly cleaned. We're not particularly picky about cleanliness, especially when traveling with dogs, but this time it seemed that nothing was done aside from replacing the toilet paper. The room itself was quite dated, which would have been fine, but the lack of basic cleaning made the stay less comfortable

We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and the location (very close to the shore, the botanical garden and of course the city). We didn't have time to visit the pool or sauna, and the weather wasn't appropriate for the rooftop bar (although the views are good).

Very good breakfast in nice surroundings. Excellent location close to the center. Own car park (although must drive on narrow streets and quite expensive) Roof top bar is worth a visit

Wish the sauna was cozy-looking

- Slightly neglected rooms with minor issues that could be easily fixed but seem ignored (e.g. loose screws causing a dangling mirror, tangled cables affecting lights - similar small problems were present in both rooms we had) - The hotel has three parking areas, but the door to the back ones lock in the morning, preventing car loading. Staff temporarily fixed my card for the parking door, but it then stopped working in my room. They’re aware of the issue but seem indifferent to fixing it

The angled mirrors and lighting by the mirrors was not the best. Really hard to see clearly. PowerPoints for charging devices and using the kettle we’re floor level (when I found them). It was hard to bend down that far.

- The rooms are very old and need some "love" - The check-in experience after 23:00 is very confusing. First, the entrance door is closed, you need to ring someone, they tell you the code you must remember and enter. Then "self check-in" counters don't work telling you to contact the stuff which is not there. It turned out you must find the plate with the envelopes containing your key from the room. Next challenge is to find out how to find your room.
- Amazing location - Suprisingly comfortable beds - Good breakfast - A lof of parking spots. The one in front of the entrance was always busy but there are 2 more which were empty and much closer to our room. On red days, there is a big public parking in aorund 1 minute walk.
