Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe 'road' down to the site was very bad for a standard car like ours.
The cabin and it's facilities were excellent.

LatviaWe booked the Arctic Lights Suite for 2 nights with a private sauna. Discovered that the sauna heater was not working, but the staff was very kind and made us a private wood-burning sauna and complimented us with a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. Apparently they did not know that the sauna was broken, because there were no complaints from people before us. There are blackout blinds in the room and very comfy beds, so we had the best sleep during the Arctic summer. We were happy that not many people were around—calm and quiet.

DenmarkThe staff we meet where very friendly but we missed a little more information in the room about the whole place
Very nice place, fine and simple as I like it. God place to spot aurora as it is away from the city and also around the buildings in the camp the lights are low and the big area with ice on the lake give free access to the sky

We liked the location and the little hut on the ice. Friendly lady making our dinner and helped with the bags.

BelgiumThe toilet in our main cabin was not functional, which we only got to know upon arrival. This meant we had to either use a small dry toilet outside or walk 300m to the main camp for a proper toilet. The weather before we arrived was such that a lot of slippery ice was on the ground just outside the main cabin, which made walking to the dry toilet very difficult. We asked the staff whether they could throw some salt or gravel, which they agreed to do, but never did. In the main cabin, the oven was very dirty and we had to clean it ourselves before using it. Although there is a sauna, there is no shower next to it - which is not practical, so only the shared sauna and showers in the main area of camp were convenient to use.
The main cabin was lovely, in an amazing location to gaze at the northern lights over a frozen lake. Most of the minor inconveniences we'd face (in particular no running water) were made clear in advance, except for a few things detailed below.

Switzerlandquite expensive, in the end
We spent a night in the wilderness cabin. The cabin is small but well equipped, the fireplace a big plus. It was OK for a night without big cooking plans, but if one wishes to stay longer, the kitchen corner in the cabin is super small. The location is superb, to walk on the frozen lake. Still, the prices are rather high

SwedenThe transport is expensive…taxi to town costs 620kr. They mentioned that they have shuttle to town during winter season, but during my 5-day stay, the shuttle is only available at the last day, so I can only stay in camp… The sofa bed is uncomfortable :(
The room is small but very cozy and functional, the view is just amazing… All the staff are very friendly and helpful, many accidents happened during my stay :), but they solved all problems very efficiently

GermanyWe had to organize the transfer to the camp and back ourselves (730 SEK one way). Kitchen equipment was limited.
Outdoor sauna was fantastic. Awesome views to all sides from the cabin. In winter possible to go for walks across the frozen lake. Make sure to pack enough food when you arrive.

United KingdomNot much else is near the cabin and a car is a must if you wish to explore other areas of Kiruna.
A very nice stay in the wilderness in the lovely log cabin at Aurora Camp Kurravaara. The cabin was really clean and comfortable. It has all the amenities needed to self cater. There are saunas available to use to add to the experience. The cabin is near plenty of forest, where we went blueberry picking and near water if you fancy a splash, although be careful with the mosquitoes at night! Overall a very nice stay with the family to detox from the stress of modern life.

United KingdomIt only had one sink to wash our dishes, no shelf in the bathroom or extra space for our toiletries. Also the microwave was very high on the kitchen shelf and not practical to use because of its location.
It was cosy, warm, comfortable and clean with a view of the frozen lake.

Germany- The Panoramaroom is really small for two persons. I wouldn’t recommend that for two persons when you are travelling with two bigger bags. Also the sofa was a little bit too soft.
- Very nice Place to stay next to the lake - small cozy accommodation - really friendly staff - nice and organised camp - all in all a beautiful place to stay! - just peaceful quiet in the middle of the wild

SwitzerlandEven though the location as such was beautiful, given that it was so remote and the Camp did not have a very rich transportation offer, it was very complicated from a logistic point of view to get to the Camp or to get from the Camp in order to do activities. The Camp only offered a few shuttles that costed extra. Upon arrival though, we had no other choice but to take a taxi from the airport to the Camp, which costed SEK 650 (for only a 12 minutes drive). We wished that the Camp would have been more considerate of the transportation situation for guests that don‘t own a car. Also, the dinner that was offered was way over-priced. It costed SEK 350 for meat balls and a pre-purchased slice of cake.
The proximity to nature was mind-blowing. The landscape was stunning, super close to the frozen lake and in the middle of the woods. Very authentic experience. Very cosy cottage. Very private atmosphere. The room was well-equipped for anyone wanting to cook something themselves. Highly recommend to anyone searching for a glamping experience!

SwitzerlandMore towels would have been nice (e.g. one for shower, one for sauna). Washing the dishes in the small bathroom sink was a bit inconvenient. The Wilderness Suite is poorly soundproofed, so you can hear everything your neighbours are saying/doing. The Relax Room was not very relaxing or cozy - it smelled like plastic. Mosquito repellent is absolutely vital at this place. Unfortunately, the camp doesn't provide or sell any. But why not?!
Aurora Camp is a tranquil place amidst nature, located right next to a beautiful and large lake (Torne river, actually). It has a lot of potential, most probably during the winter months when you can see northern lights. However, we came here in August when the place felt a bit abandoned. Our room (Wilderness Suite) had a functional kitchen, modern bathroom and private sauna (which we didn't use tho). We liked the oven in the room and also the outside BBQ area. The shared saunas (there were no other guests) were really nice too, with a beautiful view at the waterfront. After taking a sauna, we enjoyed a swim in the lake (which is very cold). WIFI was perfect.

The Wilderness Suite was extremely cozy and it even had a wooden sauna! The location was good and the views at the Torne river were astonishing.
