Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyVery slow restaurant service. After waiting 30 min for a coffee without success, I went up into our room and brought my own hot water. Also dinner was very slow (although good quality)

United KingdomNeeds some refurbishment - looking a little run down at the edges. Built on a hillside and the many wooden steps are slippery when wet. Hard to see the funicular controls in low light had to use my torch. There are still additional steps - slippery for me aged 72 and using a stick
Good location - a quirky Solomon Island feel to the place -not a bland international hotel

AustraliaRoom was not the one I initially booked. There was no water from a certain time at night until a certain time in the morning. Also very low pressure which made showering difficult. No hairdryer and also no iron - this is a problem when travelling for business. Took forever to check-in and check-out.
Great place for holiday. Absolutely beautiful with very friendly staff and nice evening vibes with music. Beautiful pool!

AustraliaIt was a sunny day when we checked in to the hotel. The roof leaked in two places which was later repaired successfully. Pool is not well maintained and the water was very cloudy. Shower cubicle wasn’t clean and the general state of repair of the rooms and countless wooden stairs and decks/ verandahs was poor. Only paid internet available in room and wifi available in the foyer restaurant area was poor. This property would benefit from significant repair/ renovation and investment.
It was well located and upper rooms have a sea view. Air conditioning was effective and the staff were keen to assist wherever possible. The cable car, used to get to rooms spread up a steep hill, was fun.

SamoaLighting in my room was a bit dim. Everyones different, i prefer more light some prefers dim like my colleague i came with. Also the gym, ive done a few clean up and tidying when i use the gym, but msybe just clear our the broken equipment and loose parts lying around every corner of the gym. And possibly add or put some seating on the bikes.
Room service and gym and the stairs to heaven hehe good for exercise. Also the cable cart when theres just no energy to walk. Also the fresh air that comes with the elevation of rooms in level 2 and above. First time seeing s frog.

United StatesI’d say it was fine with no frills. Clean, comfortable, ac in the rooms, everything you need for a couple of days in Honiara & you don’t really want to stay longer than that. Oh, you have to pay for internet in your room & I overheard someone saying it wasn’t good at all. There is free WiFi in the lobby, but only fans (no ac) & bitey insects.
It’s a nice place to stay 1 block back from the main drag. Restaurant & bar onsite are fine & you’re a short walking distance to Breakwater & palm sugar eateries. The little ‘lift’ car to get you up to the higher levels is pretty cute. I like the way it’s built up the hillside & the gardens between the levels are nice too. Didn’t use the pool. Can exchange money at reception but you get a better rate at home/the airport…

AustraliaThe staff didn't seem to want to engage. I couldn't figure out what it was, they tended to only engage if engaged upon. Not great customer service and lacking enthusiasm and a smile. Was able to get done what I needed to though, but again, just didn't really sell themselves. I used the gym twice and the pool 3 times. The gym is possibly the world's worst, but, it was enough for me to throw around a few dumbbells and get a good workout in before jumping in the pool. The pool was murky but cooled me off.
As a solo traveller who doesn't need much, it did everything it needed to without setting the world on fire. Breakfast was pretty good, I had the big breakfast twice, pancakes once and omelette once. Breakfast was served with fruit, which was nice. Dinner was solid, their pizzas from the pizza oven are decent. Room was basic, bed not that comfy, could feel the springs, sheets okay, pillows not great. Free wifi was available in the lobby and it was okay at best. It was occasionally quite temperamental and dropped out.

United StatesThe Friday night disco scene is far too loud. Even with my windows shut, and the curtains pulled, the thump-thump-thump kept me awake until 0200. Not cool.
It's a quaint hotel, well-managed, and a staff that's both friendly and professional. And 5G! A nice menu, lots of curries, which I enjoy. More fresh fish dishes, please, you're on an island! The tram is a unique feature, but slow; I too the stairs daily. But overall, very enjoyable, and yes, I'd return.

It’s a motel type of place, quite old, no basic luxury but pretty clean and decent. For Honiara is ok. The food at the restaurant is pretty good, fresh fish and own pizza oven. They also have some cultural dance shows
