Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe loved our stay here. The host is so welcoming and very keen to share his homemade produce. We tried his brandy, wine, sausages, ajvar, eggs and apples. The location is very peaceful and there's a lovely balcony to sit out on. The bed was comfy and we slept very well! Thanks again.

CanadaIt's outside Pirot. It isn't that far, but without a car it is a half hour to a decent shop, 40 minutes to the bus station. I don't think this is a bad thing, I liked the remote location of the village, but do expect to be cut off from city conveniences. That said, the hosts will drive you anywhere you want to go - they are generous with their hospitality!
It's more than accommodations, it's an experience. You'll get to know an old village with livestock. Taste fruits and nuts and vegetables grown in the yard. Sample homemade sausage and wine and brandies. Eat incredible home cooked dishes. Relax in the yard, go for a walk in the hills, visit the market in Pirot. The accommodations were comfortable. I had a kitchen I barely got to use because the hosts were always bringing me food. I had excellent wifi, even though the description said there was none - but that was a good thing because my mobile signal was weak at the villa.

New ZealandThe only thing really is the bathroom which has a funny arrangement as you have to wash your hands over the bathtub and there's some water spilling on the floor when taking a shower.
Great location in a quiet village, on the doorstep of a national park with lovely hikes. The town of Pirot which is lively and nice, is just 5 min away by car or 10/15 min by bike (bikes are provided by hosts if you ask for them). Well equipped kitchen, comfortable living area, lovely view from the balcony with morning sun. Good sized bedroom, the place is well heated with a fire and central heating, TVs are available in every room and internet access is available at good speeds which was an unexpected bonus. The place is extremely pet-friendly: we stayed with our cat and he loved exploring the place for the time that we spent there. The host popped over daily to set the fire and bring us traditional local food that he had grown and prepared himself. Ample hot water for showering and slippers provided. The furniture in the living area is great and brings a lot of atmosphere on its own. We were invited multiple times to spend time with the hosts and their extended family.

AustriaNo matter.
We thought it was a scam. Cheapest in town for 20€, and rating 9.0? That cant be right. Im serbian myself living in Austria and was here with my girlfriend to see Mount Midzur. Then we missed our bus to Sofia, atleast drove to Pirot. No chance getting to Sofia late at night at that time. Then we saw this and thought 'whatever, we just need a place to sleep till 4am for the bus'. We met the nicest family with the cutest daughter and the most wholesome service ever. Got offered their homegrown fruits, slippers, coffee, WiFi etcetc.. no hotel will make sure you are as comfortable as this family is trying. They had some minor broken stuff like the sink in the bathroom (but you can use the one from the bathtub instead). Dont worry about that. To top it all of we got offered a FREE ride to Sofia for the next day. Unfortunately we already had bought the ticket but instead he dropped us at 6am at the bus stop so we didnt need a taxi. Do not get frightened by the low price or look of the neighborhood. You are in a typical serbian household who just live their normal life.
