Hi Lozada, Thank you for the review, we’re glad to see that you overall enjoyed your stay at Cabbage Hostel Belgrade. Regarding the bathrooms, there are actually more showers on the ground floor which you also can use. I know it is not very convenient, but that’s a bit of a technical disadvantage of our otherwise gorgeous 90-year old villa:)

Hi Gerardo, Thank you for the review and we’re deeply sorry that the conversation between our employees made you feel uncomfortable. We understand that it is often hard to interpret a conversation in a different language and it may appear rude if people raise their voice. We assure you that none of our employees are treated badly. In fact, this summer we even stopped looking for volunteers as we have enough people coming back or staying to work with us longer than planned. We think something like this is unlikely to happen in places where employees are mistreated. We encourage you to not make a judgement based on a singular episode, as all of us are putting a lot of work into making your and other guests’ stay with us nice and comfortable.

Hi Bas, We’re really sad to see that your trip to Belgrade wasn’t as enjoyable as you hoped for, and I think the saddest part is probably how determined you seem to be to not like it. Like with this review, you’re so desperately looking for something to complain about, that you end up making things up (which we’ll take as a compliment). Let’s go through them one by one. 1) The ad for this dormitory doesn’t say 6 beds. I encourage you to check. It is unspecified for this room as there is no option to customise name nor description. Why did you decide there are only 6 beds we don’t know, but it is not our fault. 2) The height between the mattress and the ceiling is 154cm. Not 0,5m. I don’t know how anyone can make such a mistake, not to mention that even on the pictures anyone can see that it’s far from 0.5m. What’s even the point of such an obvious lie? 3) Since our opening, we were, we currently are, and will always be one of the cleanest hostels in Belgrade (and according to some of our guests - anywhere). We take it very seriously and while there is a possibility that a cleaning person could’ve missed a small web somewhere, “the roof full of cobwebs” is pure fiction, I can only guess that you had a nightmare. 4) We don’t subject our guests to a snoring test on check in, that is true. An experienced traveller that prefers hostels may have earplugs. A reasonable guest may approach a hostel personnel to buy them(approaching the hostel staff is actually a great idea if you have any problems. If you do want to resolve them, of course). Complaining about other guests’ snoring in a hostel review… well, not cool 5) Prices. There are internet resources to compare prices between different cities so you can be prepared. We’re very sorry that we cannot affect the prices in Belgrade, we’re just a small business run by a relatively tiny team. The team that puts their heart and soul into making this hostel a great place to stay, apparently, just to read a review like that at the end of the day.
