How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The breakfast needs to be better. Not only poor variety but also really bad quality which is really sad considering how good food Serbia has!
Perfect location, next to the pedestrian street, nice and clean rooms, pet- friendly and with parking space. The receptionist was very kind and helpful

Parkingspace. If you are lucky you can park near the hotel.

Great location and a warm welcome. The highlight of our stay was the amazing customer service from Lara – she was extremely helpful, friendly, and always went the extra mile. She truly made our stay special.

Everything was perfect. Very kind staff and accommodation exactly as agreed. Special thanks to Mrs. Sejka – such a positive person in the morning, for whom nothing is a problem. We waited about 10 minutes upon arrival. The room was in a beautifully renovated house with more than 200 years of history. You can really feel it in the original wooden beams in the hallways and rooms. The room itself was cozy (looked a bit bigger in the photos), but absolutely fine for one night. Everything was clean and tidy, the bed was firm but comfortable, with two pillows and a sheet as a cover (a blanket was available in the wardrobe). The bathroom had some small imperfections, but nothing that would bother us :) The courtyard for parking was quiet, with houses keeping their original facades – you would never guess it’s only 200 meters from the city center. Breakfast was tasty, with a smaller selection, but served in a very pleasant environment. It would have been nice if the staff greeted guests or said a few words, but I understand – not everyone is talkative in the morning. Overall, a very nice stay and we would be happy to return.

The hotel was right next to a car park and some graffiti so not the prettiest area. The AC didn't work in the night - but that was a problem on a building site nearby.
Friendly and helpful staff who spoke good English and went out of their way to help you. Smart design and good beds. The breakfast room was really nicely done. It was well located for walking around the city. Next to great restaurants. Amazing value for money.

In room 4 there is a problem with the sofa bed. It seems to be broken and it doesn't fully open making a slight slope towards the center of the bed, wich makes sleepong really difficult.

The location of the hotel is exceptional, it is in the vicinity of the pedestrian street with restaurants and shops. The owner is very nice and flexible. It was very easy to communicate with him. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Although acceptable the breakfast could could include a more variety of bread and the room amenities could include other items and for instance the shower gel should have been replaced.
The location is fantastic and the bed very comfortable.

The breakfast was perfect in the past. A bit more care (coffee machine, communication etc) would help a great deal to start the day :)
We always come back to Hotel Arhiv when traveling through Serbia. And like it a lot! The manager was great and helpful and we will likely will comme back next time in Novi Sad.

Stairs. Breakfast is always the same. Not bad but could be better
Location is very good, near the central square, but not easy to find at night, with taxi let you out on the avenue and not in the exactly location. The size of the room are good and also the TV channels.

The breakfast was a disappointment. Not much on offer and generally everything was a bit dirty and neglected. They’d be better off just not providing breakfast at all.
The room was large and had good amenities. I loved the skylight windows and the chunky wooden beams. The receptionist was extremely helpful with all my questions.

The bed was rock hard, nearly zero spring and we both got pins and needles in our arms when side- sleeping. Breakfast was just average.
Great location - less than 1minute walk to the pedestrian street, great sunny and presentable room and friendly staff. Really appreciated the off-street parking.
