Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThey are quite serious about not taking credit cards, which for a modern hotel is ridiculous. There are tiny little booths made of plywood near Bran Castle that have credit card machines, so there is no excuse other than these people just don’t want to pay any credit card fees or taxes. Internet was slow. There was only one roll of toilet paper in the room, only one very small trashcan in the room, the toilet area was kind of cramped and tiny, the toilet paper holder was very odd and out of place. The bathroom was only ventilated by opening a window which could lets bugs in. The mattress is ok, but the fake 4-poster bed is weird as it is only a decoration, no actual posts, and also no actual mosquito netting, so if there are mosquitoes you really cannot leave the window open as there are no fly screens. The shower has one teeny tiny little soap dish to hold supplies and everything else must be put on the floor, and the soap amenities are very tiny little tubes. The window blinds absolutely do not block sunlight when the sun rises, so you will be woken up. Sink design is very strange and will splash the water right onto you if you turn it on too high by even a little bit. Lack of places to put suitcases and keep them open, we had to put ours on the floor. Tiny little table for coffee gets filled up very quickly. No mini fridge at all. They say no outside food allowed in the room, and at the same time the guy at the front desk offered to go get food for us from a restaurant and bring it to our room? Not enough towels, no washcloths at all, and lack of places to hang towels. They falsely claim you are a 12 minute walk from the town center, more like 20 even using their "short" route. Walking into town is a very steep downhill, and walking back up the hill is only recommended if you’re in good shape. This is not really a big problem as you can easily get a Bolt Taxi and be at the Black Church in 7 minutes.
Definitely NOT a 5-star hotel, but definitely not bad either. A well-intentioned FOUR (4) Star hotel At Best (wife wanted to give it a 3.8). Some review said they had no hot water but ours had plenty and no issues. We stayed in the Deluxe Suite with the hot tub in the middle of the floor and that was awesome. But not all the bad reviews were wrong either (see the many notes in the "what we did not like section"). The staff is friendly enough. Breakfast is good but they ran out of some items in the first 15 minutes of breakfast which was not good. The room is pretty, and the hot tub in the super deluxe room is absolutely wonderful although it does take a full hour to even fill up halfway. All in all, having stayed at a number of genuine 5 Star hotels and resorts around the world (for example the Grand Continental in Bucharest), their claim of being 5 Star is just not true. We can rate this happily as a well-intentioned four star (at best) bed-and-breakfast. While we personally would not stay here again, we can see that some people may enjoy this place just fine.

NetherlandsIt is not that I didn’t like something, but I don’t think it is a 5* hotel. Small details makes me say that-shower was leaking, toilet flush was not working properly, window curtains were to small to cover even half of the window, some decoration present but batteries not working, road next to the hotel and noise was annoying, etc.).
Small and nice hotel. Walking distance from the city centre (coming back is uphill, keep that in mind). Good breakfast. Clean and spacious rooms. No issues with card payments (saying this as I have seen some comments stating it is a problem). Private parking available. Nice and green area around hotel.

RomaniaFirst of all, there were no mosquitoes nets for the windows / doors, and although you have in your room an anti-mosquitoes device and tablets, they are not 100% effective (we had one big mosquito which survived the night although device was on). Second, it would be recommended to have a more guest-friendly attitude (we arrived at 14:30 and we were told, on a tone which was a little harsh, that check-in starts at 15:00 - we would not have minded to be told that we have to wait a couple of minutes, inviting us to do it by going to the outside terrace or waiting in the main lounge (breakfast) area), serving a coffee).
Interesting hotel, with guest rooms tailored on different colors and atmosphere ... stylish and quiet, with own parking space in front of building. We kindly say thank you to our hosts, since we received an upgrade to our room - their decision, not our request. The location is just on the outer skirts of Brașov, on the way to Poiana Brașov ... large green area and a back side terrace organized in nature, with short time to reach the center (ride sharing). The breakfast is in the main area at the ground floor, with many good and diversified products.

United KingdomThe only minor critique I have, is that I requested extra tp from the receptionist, however he forgot to bring it to room. I tried calling the reception various times to remind the receptionist that I need tp, but no one answered.
Everything!! We'll done to the hotel team for great decor in the rooms. Also, the room was absolutely spotless and clean. The bathroom smelt like bleach which shows that it was scrubbed clean :)

Canada1.No mesh at doors or windows- you have to keep the windows closed at all time to avoid having bugs and mosquitoes coming in; a proper mesh will allow guests to keep the windows open allowing the fresh air coming in and mean time saving energy from not having the AC Unit on 2. No possibility to pay by credit card- a big minus for this ( the receptionist got really frustrated when I told him i have no cash - his argument was that he warned us a day before therefore he was expecting us to obey the rule; he got nervous for not listening to his demand! ) I finally paid him cash for the minibar items we had; the funny part is that he admitted that i can pay by credit card anywhere else in town but at the villa ( there is a lot more to talk about WHY cash only option accepted here ) 3. No $ sign on booking description for minibar in order to make you aware at the time of booking that items in the fridge are to be paid as extras 4. Safety concern regarding lack of handrail at the spiral staircase that helps to hold on it in case of tripping or falling.
A good location on the way to Poiana Brasov - You MUST have a car though, in order to easily access the site and not rely on public transportation.

CroatiaNOT adults only as advertised...lots of children NOT available WiFi on second floor NO card purchase in hotel, cash only policy (?) NO bills for purchases given and NO bill for the hotel stay was provided. For 5Stars establishment I expects the beds linen to be changed daily......was not for our whole duration (3 days) Hotel staff decided breakfast will only be served in open garden area......really? It was cold and wet from overnight rain..... NOT SURE IF THE 5 STARS ARE WELL EARNED. I will not recommend this to any of my friends

BelgiumAlthough we had a king sized bed, the blanket was smaller so we weren't able to enjoy it fully. Also only 1 pillow. No mosquito screens in front of the windows.
Very quiet location surrounded with nature, but still only a short 5 minute taxi drive away from the city center. Walking there is also possible, takes about 20 minutes down a steep road (take the taxi back up). Lovely breakfast, with possibility to sit outside. Our room was big and very classy, with a comfortable king sized bed and balcony.

RomaniaThe bed, not a 5* bed for sure. My body hearts a bit after sleeping 3 nights there. The mattresses is way to soft and thin. There is an obsession with paying cash and right as you consume something. For eg. We asked the staff for more water, they came with the water and wanted us to pay it right away. We payed and told them that we also consumed the water from minibar and we need toilet paper. When we went out for a walk they entered the room to check the minibar and when we arrived they immediately asked us for the money. They replaced the water in the minibar but the toilet pare no :)). I really don't understand this obsession, if someone pays so much for a night there for sure will have money to pay the water or whatever, and at that price it shouldn't matter if they pay a water anyway. It's a pity because the place is wonderful, it really is, it's a dream, though this is not 5* service.
The room looks wonderful, it's big, it has the spa in the room, a big terrace, lovely. The location is great, close to the city but in a quiet place, close to Poiana Bv as well. The breakfast was great, the breakfast coffee not so much. The staff was helpful. We ft great there, the place and the room looks like a dream.
