Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaIt’s not a dislike, but I am a coffee lover and would recommend adding an espresso machine.
Surprising location, in the middle of a village, in a few reconditioned old buildings like the old school, full of charm, attention to details, love for art, lovely people and great food. They have a set menu each day, so you don’t have a la carte options, but what we have tried in our short stay, was really good.

RomaniaSomething must be done about the abundance of dogs in the yard, by day you cannot eat without having 4 or 5 near you, and by night, they are making quite a noise, waking you up several times during the night. Also, the upstair rooms in the school dont have any soundproofing, I could even hear when the neighbours were walking in their room.
The food was extraordinary, the chef made new dishes for every meal. The rooms on the ground floor looked very nice, the library being the gem, in my opinion.

RomaniaThe room in which we stayed (S1) is too hot during the summer days, only at night it cools down and you can stay in. There is no AC being a historical building.
Beautiful location with a superb library, the stuff is very kind and attentive, great local food.

We are a couple with a 16 month old toddler. The accompdation was beautiful, we all enjoyed the big gardens very much. They provided a bsby bed and a baby chair. In the village is not much to do. Just a small shop. The owners are romanians/germans and have a very good hand with art and put nice things together to decorate. Its all very welcoming amd beautiful made. The houses (four) used to be the old school building, the old old pastors house. Theirs also a church castle which you can visit with the owner. Dont forget to leave a tip for the maintenance. Which the only 5 beleivers im the village have to cover. Its only 30 minutes drive to the transfagarasan

RomaniaThe room was a bit hot, even at night and there were no windows that could be open (the windows were as big as the door)
When Belinda said “heaven is a place on earth” she was probably staying at Transylvania guesthouse. This place is magical. It’s where rustic meets diaphanous, simply magical. The rooms are simple, comfortable, very light (if I can describe a room as light). The buildings have large gardens where you can relax, listen to the birds or pet the cats. There were also many dogs, all super friendly and cute. The restaurant is great, food was delicious. They also have a big library (very instagram-able 😅) that is just magical. I can’t wait to return!

RomaniaWe loved everything about this place—one of the rare finds that truly ticks all the boxes: warm guest service, delicious food, unique personality, thoughtful design, and cleanliness. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming—like we were guests in their own home. The food was beautifully prepared using local produce, with a charming Saxon twist. The design is a perfect balance between Saxon character and Nordic barnyard charm. Sunlight filled the rooms, highlighting the cozy, rustic elegance, while beautiful art on every wall added warmth, color, and personality to the space. Not to mention the loving, playful dogs and cats that roam the property—adding even more heart to an already unforgettable stay.

RomaniaCouldn't find something specific I did not like. I liked all of the experience greatly.
The breakfast was great, made up of mostly traditional food from what I could conclude. It was fresh every day and it's organised in the building of the former school, which is very great lit up and very nice atmosphere.

RomaniaWe had an exceptional stay at the Transylvania Guesthouses! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the stunning surroundings and the warm hospitality extended to us. Right in front of the guesthouses stands a majestic fortified church dating back to the XIII century, adding a touch of historical sense to the already beautiful location. Inside, the restaurant area boasts a beautiful library, offering a perfect spot not just for dining but also for relaxation. The room was clean and well-maintained. Every meal was a delight: the food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, made with local ingredients.

RomaniaOur room was very cold (heating wasn’t turned on yet, we were offered some extra blankets, but that wouldn’t resolve the coldness in the entire room) and had some cleaning issues (forgotten used towel on one of the armchair, hair strings on the bathroom floor from the previous guests). You didn’t really had an idea what the menu will be, as it’s not listed anywhere (unsure what happens if you got allergies to one of the dishes?)
I absolutely loved the main building consisting of the dining room and library. The yard is also quite big and gives out a relaxing vibe. Owner upgraded our room to a bigger one, since on Booking you can only choose a small one.

NetherlandsNothing really! We were well taken care of and they were really attentive to our needs. It was the first time for us, but we’d definitely come back!
The location was excellent! The revival of the village church and parish houses was beautifully done to host guests at highest standards and at the same time show the cultural history and identity of the building and village. I was impressed that this guesthouse brings a lot to the local community and keeps history, culture and tradition alive. The staff makes you feel like home. The meals prepared with locally grown and fresh food are so delicious and healthy! It’s a perfect location to experience village life and connection to nature, in the centre of Romania, closer to all parts of the country. Here we also had the chance to explore and understand better Transilvanya’s rich history and find out about the fortified church in Cincșor and other fortified churches in the region. The design has beautifully combined old and new, giving honor to the traditional ancestry in a modern way. The pieces of furniture are well curated, mixing art and natural sweet details. There are a lot of books to browse as well. I absolutely loved that there are many cats and dogs around in the village and they were very friendly and playful. We had such a great experience! Thank you!

The location, the people (everyone tried their best to make us feel at home), the atmosphere. It was great to be able to pick a book from the library and read it during our stay. They accept pets as well, which we highly appreciated! I would definitely recommend the place!

RomaniaWe, as coffee-enthusiastic persons, couldn't enjoy the coffee we would want to. But this is a personal opinion independent of what the location is capable of offering, which is a great surrounding and a dream library.
The dinner in the garden was marvelous, the perfect combination of fine dining and nice outside area. The library, the backyard, the silence, and the coziness of the area are tremendous.
