How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

All very good - the rooms and equipment are a bit tired with age, but everyone tried their best under these circumstances. We had a very pleasant stay, and there’s certainly nothing wrong with the hotel and the rooms. Plus, with a taxi, you get to the centre within minutes for fairly little money, saving a bunch when compared to the rates of downtown hotels. So, not a mistake at all, but don’t expect too much either. The breakfast was pretty good!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Brașov. The place is beautiful, very clean, and conveniently located near the city center, which made it easy to explore the town. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful—especially the lady at the reception, who provided us with great information about the castles we wanted to visit and helped us plan our route. We truly felt welcomed and well taken care of. Highly recommended!

- The shower room is small and the shower head is somewhat broken - the blanket is too small for two people - there is no hairdryer and you need to walk to reception to borrow a hairdryer
It’s quiet at night. Room is quite spacious. Breakfast is ok for the price included

I missed hair dryer. The heating was still on (end of April), the weather was hot outside, and even more inside
The room was spacious, quiet, clean. Very nice bathroom with bath tube.

Strange unpleasant smell in the room (maybe hotel should do deep clean of carpets or curtains) Extremely cold floor in the bathroom (we had room on 1st floor) Shower head did not hold properly, needs to be replaced ASAP No kettle in the room No hairdryer in the bathroom

Everything was great.
We arrived at the hotel late at night, without paying, we had a key and a wonderful room waiting for us. We were checked in without paying, we paid in the morning. The level of service is impressive. Thank you.

I had a fantastic experience staying at Hotel Rainer during my recent trip to Braşov. The hotel perfectly blends classic charm with modern comfort, making it a cozy and welcoming place to stay. The building itself has beautiful historic architecture, and the interior is clean, warm, and tastefully decorated. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and great local recommendations. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a very comfy bed and a clean, well-equipped bathroom. Everything was spotless, and I appreciated the quiet atmosphere—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Breakfast was fresh and satisfying, offering a nice variety of both local and international options. The location is excellent—just a short walk from the old town and close to shops, restaurants, and public transport. Overall, Hotel Rainer exceeded my expectations. It’s a great choice for anyone visiting Braşov and looking for comfort, convenience, and a touch of local charm. I’ll definitely stay here again!

I don’t understand why people write negative comments especially for the breakfast. For the money paid it was bigger that expected with respectable selection which was refreshed the whole time. Many fresh options on the table, clean fresh rooms, full heating with hot water & VERY polite stuff. Hotel parking is limited, if you are lucky you will park BUT that was no surprise as it WAS mentioned before booking. The center of Braşov was about 2,5km (give or take) which is a walking distance for me. Would stay again if I had the chance. I consider it value for money.

Good location and excellent staff, very kind. Even though we arrived late, around 23:40, due to bad weather, the gentleman at the reception welcomed us warmly and with a beautiful smile.
