Might be just a preference, but the toilet space for me was quite small. However, except this small inconvenience, everything was great.

Very tasty food, clean rooms, friendly staff, plenty of space for parking.

One of the cons was that the sauna was chargeable, but that didn't detract from my overall positive impression of the hotel.

I was extremely pleased with my stay at Pensiunea Sarmis in Sarmizegetusa, Romania! The room was very cozy, clean and warm, which made my holiday even more enjoyable. The water in the bathroom was always warm, which is important for a comfortable stay. I also appreciated the free pool, which was a great way to relax after a day of sightseeing. The only downside was that the sauna was chargeable, but that didn't detract from my overall impression of the hotel. Everything at Pensiunea Sarmis is done with attention to detail and style, the interior is all wood and looks very beautiful and authentic. The tavern is simply amazing - with the style of a hunting lodge, filled with furs and elements from nature, which creates a cozy and unique atmosphere. I had a wonderful time here and will definitely be back!

The location, meals, pool, room, restaurant, decorations, everything was great! The staff has listened to my request as well, and they prepared a surprise that exceeded my expectations! Choosing this place during Christmas season was a great idea!

Some details could be better: Curtains were partly broken and not really dark, they could put some water bottles in the room (considering the price)

The food is expensive for its taste, the order came after almost 2 hours and the staff are really unprofessional.

Location is excellent, right in Sarmizegetusa, near the Traiana Ulpia open air museum.

I didn't like that the kitchen door was not closed and the smell of food was prominent in the restaurant which made your clothes smell of food as if you were in the kitchen all day.

The garden is very large, a quiet atmosphere and a wonderful view.

The surroundings are very poor and the discrepancy between the hotels yard and surroundings is very big. The room has very old furniture which is not hole functional. The badroom was very little on all dimensions including the door. The bathtube was clogged. We got another bathroom to, close to our room but the door couldn't be locked. The elements were very warm and we couldn't close or adjust them so we needed to sleep with the windows open. It's definitely needs some renovation. Other parts of the pension looked more modern.

Nice yard. Big parking place inside. You can eat outside on the terrace in the summer. There are rooms with direkt entrance from outside and a little terrace with table and chair just outside the door. Restaurant on site. Quite clean. The stuff was very friendly.

The suite was crampy, bad smell in the bathroom, bad cleaning services. The bed was uncomfortable. My wife had back pain in the morning.

I've been travelling pretty extensively for the past 25 years, all over the globe and off the beaten track; I can however say, hand on heart, this was my worst experience ever. I'm still shaking with anger thinking about it. This is how it went down: we spent about 20 minutes at this property. We got there late afternoon, on a hot day after having driven from Sibiu via Sarmizegetusa Regia (totally worth seeing), tired and dusty. While my husband and I were unpacking the kid went to the pool to cool down. When he got there a bunch of teenager boys who were using the pool started laughing at him for wearing "street clothes" (he was wearing a rashie and swimming shorts, as most Australian kids do at the pool or the beach) and then started shooting him in the head with water guns. All 6-7 of them, ganging up on a 10 year old. The kid ran back crying so hard I could't get more than a brief description of the incident out of him, and no mention of the shooting in the head until we were in the next town, or I would have gone after those boys myself. As it was, I went to find someone to talk to in reception - there was nobody. We left the keys with one of the cleaning staff and we just left, not worth the aggravation. We drove to Hunedoara and got a hotel room, and next day we changed plans and left the whole area. We really didn't want anything further to do with the horrid people one apparently finds in this part of Romania. That evening the owner called and insisted we go back so she can give us the money back, as she thought it was not right to take our money. Next morning, we get there and we get a full on interrogation as to why we're not coming back (as if!) and a statement they're not giving us anything back. Whatever, they can keep their accursed money (for the 3 nights we paid for!) - but goodness me people, don't waste YOUR money on this pathetic excuse of a B&B.
