How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Stairs to the bedroom could be challenging for some. Only one pillow each for sleeping. Breakfast was lacking in choices.
Nicely appointed, very clean, nice terrace, welcoming staff. We could walk to the center and an easy Bolt ride back. Lovely room for breakfast.

The fact that you are travelling by car, getting there is tricky, but the exit is even more tricky

The broken baby crib and the old bed and mattress in the superior room should be repaired or replaced, so should the sink faucet in the bathroom

Great hotel on the hillside. You are literally in the woods to enjoy nature with the morning cup of coffee while it takes 15 minutes to would to the old town. The hosts are very friendly and the interior is cozy.

The location is great, with walking distance to the city center, the room is very cozy with all the facilities. I appreciate the fact that it was clean, spacious, good beds and pillows and also a good shower.

This place is a hidden gem. Close enough walking distance to the town center and also you can experience quiet and a peaceful rest and gorgeous setting for rest and breakfast. Clean, conformable, and spacious rooms. Can't say enough - recommend highly! Would definitely come back and spend more time enjoying!

The breakfast could be more complex/diversified. The mattress was way too soft. Would suggest getting a medium-hard one.

I am very satisfied with MER Guest house. Everyone was very nice and polite. Room was nice and very clean. For me, location was great because it's on a hill surrounded by wood so it's very quiet and it is only 100 minutes walk to old town. There is a parking in the street next to guest house.

Wonderful, tranquil guesthouse tucked away on the hill overlooking some forest and yet within walking distance of the Black Church. Elegant and very clean rooms and lovely terraces with views of the forest. Perfect for a break. Much better value than more expensive places in Brasov where we also stayed. Very friendly staff and a nice breakfast included.

Everything was perfect, but maybe it is worth mentioning that the way to the B&B was a bit confusing. We used a navigation system and it led us through streets that were so narrow, we could barely fit through. Later we learned that there were longer ways to get to the property that were wider, but we didn’t know at first about them.
The B&B was beautiful, surrounded by nature, you feel like you’re in a forest but still just a 15 minute walk to the city center. The receptionists were extremely kind and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, perfect for a couple.

We arrived with a minivan, and it was quite challenging to maneuver such a large vehicle near the property. I recommend that the place consider this issue in the future, especially since families typically arrive with one larger vehicle, and inform guests in advance about the difficulty regarding access and parking.
We came as a family and really enjoyed the guest house’s location in nature. It was very convenient and the room was well-equipped.

The B&B is in a perfect location just a few minutes walk away from the main square, the room was very nice and clean, the service was impeccable (especially the delicious freshly made breakfast), and overall I had a very pleasant stay and can’t wait to return

Amazing place, awesome owner! Everything was clear, well equiped, great beds 😊. We also had a tasty breakfest and coffeee. The old town is just a few minutes away from appartment so we did not use our car to visit a city. We really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend it!!! Thank you!!!!

There were no points of dislike
We felt direct welcome and the breakfast lady was amazing with our daughter. We requested a cot in the room and everything was set up for us and a babychair for breakfast was avaible too
