Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe communal kitchen has seen better days
I stayed in two different rooms in the guest house, and the experience was very different in each one. In the first, there was no fresh air and the room was dark and badly ventilated, in the second, we were in a studio that had windows that opened outside, a small kitchen area, and was lighter and much better. So your experience of this guesthouse depends on what room you book - I recommend the studio

NetherlandsThe rotary air ventilator made some noise, so I couldn't sleep with it being 'on'. But nevertheless, I tended to sleep on top of the bedsheets with the window open. This was only because during my stay it had been really hot outside and my room was on the top floor & as we all know, heat tends to rise up. It was still doable and relaxing and made unwinding possible even! Not a big thing, but during summer heat, just make sure you vent the room (which also had 1 window in the bedroom and 1 in the personal bathroom).
The room was very roomy and had an air rotary ventilator on the ceiling - which was useful to cool off the room during summer heat. The personal bathroom was also very roomy and I enjoyed the space it gave me to wind out and relax after long days of walking, hiking and strolling down town. The shared kitchen was also very roomy and had a relaxed atmosphere. The location was perfect, because it was just outside the busier town centre - but still at a walking distance. So the nights were really easy and peaceful. The windows had rollable curtain so I could increase or decrease natural lighting and the feeling of privacy. I enjoyed walking to and fro location! Old Town Brasov is so beautiful and this appartment was fabulous. The staff actively ensured if everything was alright (via Booking messaging) and I used this communication in order to settle some stuff, for instance; when I needed another trashbag, communication was positively and reciprocal.

RomaniaMy rooms was on the smaller size. No mosqito net on the windows. No AC, quite hot during the summer, but ok during the night. Towels could smell better.
Very easy access and communication with the host. The spaces have a fresh coat of paint. Nice outdoor covered terrace. Communal kitchen space with appliances.

United KingdomOur room was under the roof and quite hot in early June. The ceiling fan helped but I think in July August it would have been too hot.
The room was basic but we had what we needed. The location near piata unirri was nice, with a few restaurants and shops very nearby and the old town 15 min walk.

ItalySome little things made it look like it was unfinished; common areas had old furniture and appliances that were not working properly or dirty. Overall it was very convenient for my group, but it needs a little extra care.
We all had spacious room and common areas were good as we were a big group. We got the chance to have breakfast in the kitchen all together, store our food and chill as a group. Most of the bathrooms were freshly renewed and it was nice that everybody had their own!

SlovakiaThe room we stayed in was right next to the hallway with full glass wall and though the view was beautiful, it felt like greenhouse. We had windows only to this hallway, so we could not get much fresh air from the outside even when all the windows there were open.
Location was really good. not in the main old city centre, more in the outskirts of the historical part of town, but surrounded by mountains. It has its own bathroom and washing machine is available, which was really useful to us.

United Kingdom- The host didn't send me check-in details. We had to call them when we arrived. The issue was sorted out quickly, though so not a big deal in the end - Entrance was a bit shabby, not good first impression - The door of the room has some "decoration" in glass so you would get the light from the corridor. It doesn't make sense in an accommodation where guests don't even know each other - There is a terrace for smokers and the smell of tobacco is quite strong. The area didn't look nice to me
- Room was clean - The windows had blinds so you wouldn't wake up with the sunlight - Well located, 15 mins walk from Brasov square - There is a shared kitchen available

LithuaniaI love cooking so I didn't really like the kitchen. There was only 1 stove top, so you can only use 1 pot or pan at a time. Pots and pans are old and needs to be changed. It was also difficult to figure it out how the electric stove top worked but I managed somehow :D There also was quite bad smell from the bathroom pipes but that's ok.
We arrived by car, quite central location. 15 minutes walk to the city centre and restaurants. We were able to find parking on the street. Easy self check in with clear instructions. Comfy beds, pillows, spacious room, there was a good size table for work and two chairs. Mini fridge in the room and large fridge in a shared kitchen. Washing machine. Shared kitchen with basic tools, pots and pans. Spacious bathroom, hot water. Good wifi.

Clean and tidy, good value, with fully equipped kitchen, washing machine etc. Good base to explore Brasov, about a 12 min walk into the old Town. Bus goes direct to train station, just catch number 4 (Google shows 51, which doesn't run any more - 4 goes from station to about 4 min from guest house).
