Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumClean and well maintained hotel. Great breakfast. Friendly staff : as we arrived in Brasov before noon with the train, we were looking for depositing our luggage prior to the check-in at 14h00. A staff member helped us out and took over our luggage, which was present in our room when we checked in later that day.

New ZealandWe had some ongoing issues with the app-based access - make sure you take multiple power packs just in case. Plus you need mobile data. Would recommending getting codes as well just in case.

RomaniaThe only minor drawback was the absence of a vending machine in the lobby with bottled water, soft drinks, or light snacks. There is a water dispenser, but the water was cold and tasted a bit stale. Also be aware of Brașov’s parking rules: outside the paid-parking hours you can’t pay via SMS or the TPark app, so you’ll need to either set an alarm for 8 a.m. to pay when enforcement resumes (I don't like waking up at 8 a.m. while on vacation), or find a nearby pay-and-display machine. This inconvenience is caused by city regulations, not by the hotel itself.
My stay at this hotel was excellent. The entire property is spotlessly clean—there’s no trace of detergent or any other odour, which I found remarkable. Although the hotel operates with self-check-in via its app, every staff member I interacted with was courteous and efficient. The rooms are decorated in a tasteful colour palette that clearly shows an attentive eye for design. Breakfast and coffee were perfectly adequate to start the day. Street parking is conveniently available right in front of the hotel; you simply pay via the TPark app, by SMS, or at the nearby meter, and I never had trouble finding a space. I will definitely return to this hotel!

United StatesThe first night, the bottom sheet was too small to tuck in so it was just laid on top of the mattress. Had we noticed before bed, we would have said something. Since we did not, we spent the night getting tangled in the bottom sheet since it bunched up each time we turned. The very friendly housekeeper switched it out the next day for a larger sheet that she was able to tuck so the problem was easily solved. Still, this should not have happened because it was so easy to avoid. In regards to the restaurant; we felt that the prices were high for what we got. As an example, at non-breakfast hours an americano was $5 USD. A glass of wine was half full and still $6 USD/glass; it was good local wine but still a skimpy glass for the price. Even so, we had a great overall experience and we will return but maybe not get beverages or food in the restaurant except for the included breakfast.
Check-in at the bar was simple. (It was so nice to be checked in by a person instead of electronically with a cell phone which so many places are doing these days.) Staff was very friendly and accommodating, allowing us to drop off our luggage before the room was cleaned. They all spoke very good English as well. We loved that an old building was converted into a comfortable and modern pension and restaurant while keeping its old character. Our room was on the top floor with a dormer window. (If you have trouble with uneven stairs this probably isn't the place for you since none of the rooms are on the ground floor.) While the room was not large, it was very comfortable and clean; probably one of the cleanest bathrooms we have had while traveling! The bed was comfortable as well and the A/C on the ceiling kept the room cool and was easy to control. It was quiet at night even with events happening outside during the evening and the ceiling window had shades to block the sun. There was also plenty of room for our luggage under the slanting part of the ceiling. Breakfast was perfect for us. There were several options; we had fried eggs/salad/bread one morning and omelets/pickled veg/bread the next. The coffee was excellent as others have noted. Our water bottles were filled with filtered water each morning at the bar; another nice touch. We each had two cups of americano each morning and there was no extra charge. For those wanting more food (pancakes etc), the extra price is clearly stated on the breakfast menu. Diners can sit in the lovely dining room or outside in the very nice patio. The location itself was also great, just across from the plaza.

PortugalMy son found his sofa bed too soft. Free parking is very limited and is behind the hotel, which we didn't initially find. Then it was always filled so we had to pay to public parking on the road. We had no frigobar.
Hotel Brasov is .modern, clean and cozy. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast is also good, with cereal, hot breakfast, fruit, bread, cheese and ham. The staff was only seen at breakfast, as I only stayed a night. They were very friendly.

United KingdomThe air con wasn't very effective and the room was incredibly hot. It said 24/7 tea and coffee making facilities in the salon but the coffee machine was turned off out of breakfast time hours. There was a machine for hot water but you have to provide your own coffee, black tea and milk.
The hotel was in a good location for the train station and about a 30 minute walk to the Old Town which was beautiful. The room was a decent size with a good size ensuite. The staff were very friendly and let us drop our bags in our room early.

RomaniaEverything, always a pleasure to return here, at Hotel Brasov. The staff is very nice, everything is clean, good breakfast (p.s. the coffee is great, actually my wife said this was the best coffee she had in a while, and she is picky). We have been coming here since 2019 and will continue to do so.

United KingdomAlthough the price is good by British standards, its a bit more than I'd normally pay in Romania, although accept that in cities, prices will be more expensive. Other than that, can't fault the hotel, and will happily stay here again.
The hotel offers an online check-in which given our late arrival was vital. We were able to register the details prior to arriving, and then open doors, and access the room off a mobile phone. A great system for a 24 hour reception. Check-out worked in a similar way, needing no keys. Breakfast was provided which was appreciated, together with tea and coffee. The hotel is a convenient 10 minute walk from Brasov station along well lit roads.

JerseyI recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Brasov in Romania and I must say, it was a truly fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine desire to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and the overall decor was tasteful and inviting. The staff at Hotel Brasov were attentive and friendly, always willing to assist with any requests or questions I had. The amenities were top-notch, including a delicious breakfast spread each morning and a cozy lounge area where I could unwind after a day of exploring the city. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience at Hotel Brasov. If you're looking for a wonderful place to stay in Romania, I highly recommend this hotel. You won't be disappointed!
