“To be fair we don’t stay it doesn’t look like the photo and it’s not beachfront which it says it is”

  • Trinco Harbour Villa Review score: 7

“The place was modern and nice, a good place for big groups, near to all attractions. Owners/caretakers of the place are friendly and helpful. You could request meals and make your own tea & coffee.”

    “Location”

  • Amila Guest Review score: 10

“We stayed for 4 nights in total, our host provided comfort, stability and safety from the moment we walked in which is what caused us to extend our stay! He booked our snorkelling and dolphin watching for us for a good price and it was all organised through him so it took extra stress off our backs and it was a 10/10 experience. We were able to rent mopeds from him very cheap which allowed us to explore all of Trincomalee, he also recommended many places to eat and places to see which enhanced our stay even further. The room we stayed in was very clean, bright and comfortable and probably the best room we have stayed in Sri Lanka!”

  • Dutch Villa - Trincomalee Review score: 8

“Nice guesthouse near the city center. The room was large and clean, with a very comfortable bed. What I liked most about the guesthouse was its position right on the beach (the nicest and cleanest in Trincomalee, in my opinion.) Umbrellas and loungers were provided.”

  • Sunbreeze Guest House Review score: 7

“Very beautiful place, and in good position”

  • Alass Ga For Pets Lovers Review score: 10

“Such a wonderful place to stay! Close to the beach and restaurants, very relaxing and rooms have everything you need. Prashanth is a lovely host who truly cares about the welfare of all animals, and the cats and dogs are super friendly - if you are an animal lover this is definitely for you! Make sure to try out Mom’s kitchen next door too, absolutely beautiful Sri Lankan food. If you stay here, please give Sisu some pats for me, he’s the sweetest little cat and I miss him!”

  • RKM Hotel Uppuveli Review score: 10

“A perfect couple of days staying at this wonderful new property in Uppeveli. The room was very spacious and light, the mattress and bed were really comfortable, the bathroom is also wonderfully soacious with 2 very good showers. Beyond the bedrooms, there are plenty of more communal spaces (currently no seating, but you can easily take the chair from your bedroom out here) and a wonderful veranda surrounding the whole of the 1st floor. The host is incredibly kind and helpful, and is able to arrange tours with his contacts if you would like. Location wise, it is down a quiet lane just off the main road, making it easy to access yet remarkably peaceful. You can access the beach a 5 minute walk away, which is perfectly okay if you would like to go for a beach walk or watch a gorgeous sunrise with the locals out on their finishing boats. Beyond that, just a 5 minute Tuktuk ride away is Fernando’s bar, which has a lively beach bar feel, catering for any kind of food, with hammocks and sun loungers under the palms, and beach parties every night. 5 minutes in the other direction from the hotel is Trincomalee, allowing you to see the more cultural side of the area. All in all, this great new property is great value, in the ideal location to explore the areas easily, and with a host who bends over backwards to accommodate you- if you are looking for a place to stay near Trincomalee, this is the place to go.”

  • Dyke Rest Review score: 9

“The location is spectacular. The deserted beach with crystal-clear water is right in front of the guesthouse, you just get out of bed and walk a few steps to enjoy a truly remarkable sunrise. The staff is very helpful in arranging transportation or activities. We personally recommend renting a scooter which, at a very reasonable and convenient price, makes it much easier to go out for meals beyond Trincomalee and to visit Nilaveli and Uppuveli. Absolutely recommended by Tommi & Anita”

  • Natraj Guest House Review score: 9

“Natraj Guest house is a lovely place to spend a few days while enjoying the nearby beach. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff very friendly and always ready to help. There is also a spa on the premises and the massages were fabulous!”
