“I made the reservation, paid, we arrived at 3:00 am, the receptionist didn't let us in, he said we should have arrived earlier, if I reserved and paid, I can arrive whenever I want.”

The Safe didn’t work in the room, spoke to Receptionist and was told that none of the safes worked in any of the rooms.
The top cover on the bed had a stain, so didn’t appear to be clean. Big hair in the bed and the bottom sheet was thread bare, had a hole, so bed linen was old.
The “included Breakfast” in the hotel details had a hot Breakfast included, but the Breakfast was very sparse, just a few yoghurts, Satsumas, cereal bars, two types of Cereals, waffle maker and tea and coffee to make. No toast available .Could only have a satsuma and Yoghurt as Gluten Free. Juice machine had an out of order notice on it and the snack vending machine also had an out of order notice stuck to it.”
“This is a suburban home with several bedrooms for rent. Ours was comfortable, well furnished, impeccably clean. Nice screen porch overlooking a canal and the nondescript neighborhood. Nice selection of typical highly processed breakfast foods plus fruits and dairy products. Host was amiable.”

The following morning, the owner contacted us and arranged to meet us and give a full refund in person, with a lovely apology and offer of a free stay as compensation. We were so sad not to have had the opportunity to stay with this kind and attentive host, but will definitely take the opportunity on our next visit.”
