“Location is good with places of interest and the beach walking distance. There is also a shuttle to the hotel’s private beach. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Staff members are very polite and helpful. Water dispenser by the lobby comes in very handy. Breakfast is good value for money, and pandan marshmallows are so yummy!”
“Very relaxing with massage available on the beach. The sandy beach has chaise longues and the water was so warm. Great restaurant and room service. Nice, quiet location. Definitely recommended. I'll be back.”
“Stay in September 2025
This was our first trip to Bali, traveling as a couple. We chose our hotels based on reviews on Booking, and for Uluwatu we stayed 4 nights at the Grande Hotel.
Location: The hotel is not exactly in the center of Uluwatu, but in a premium resort area. It’s about 20 minutes by car or 10 minutes by scooter from the center. Easy access, with roads in fair to good condition.
Check-in: We arrived around 1 a.m. and check-in was smooth. Reception is available 24/7.
Room: We booked a suite — very spacious, comfortable, clean, and well equipped, with a lovely bathroom and bathtub. The living area, however, could use some refurbishment, especially the sofa which was worn out. There was also a slight damp smell, but that seems common in Bali.
Hotel: Beautiful property with two large pools and views over the golf course. The gym is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. It’s not extensively equipped, but good enough for a proper workout.
Staff: Absolutely AMAZING. Extremely kind, helpful, and always smiling. Truly outstanding service.
Breakfast: Large buffet with plenty of choice. I’d recommend sticking to the basics (eggs, fruit) as some of the other dishes can be a bit disappointing.
Getting around: GRAB is very convenient in Uluwatu. Alternatively, you can rent a scooter directly at the hotel for about €10 per day (don’t forget your international driver’s license!).
Nearby beach: Dreamland Beach is just 10 minutes away by scooter — a fantastic spot whether you want to surf or simply relax and sunbathe.
Overall: A good hotel that could benefit from some minor room updates. Our expectations weren’t very high, but we ended up being more than satisfied with our stay.”
