  • Niko Ryokan Review score: 10

“The place was amazing in a small hot spring village. It gave me the authentic feel of living in a traditional ryokan. The hosts were amazing and very helpful. They were able to help prepare a vegan breakfast for me. The hostspring was also a really great add on. The place was quiet and overall amazing. The best stay for me in Japan”

  • Hotel Sankyo Fukushima Review score: 10

“Triple room was big and comfortable, ckean an quiet. Breakfast was great with mix of asian and western food, even sashimi. We really enjoyed it. All in all it was a very good stay.”

  • “Clean, comfortable rooms. Only a few beds (3-4) in each room, so you're not having to stay with too many people. Staff were friendly and helpful, even though they're only down in the reception area for limited hours a day. Women-only dorm had one bunk bed and one single bed with a curtain dividing the two. I slept in the lower bunk, no complaints. Have to pass through the mixed dorm room to reach the women-only room, but there was a locked door between the two rooms that I assume only the guests for the women-only dorm have the key to. Not sure if mixed dorm room has a lock or key. A bit of a walk from the station, but convenient location in a central part of town with coffee shops and restaurants nearby, easy access to the tourist loop bus stop.”
