Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing. Everything was great.
What made this hotel special was the exceptional service of the staff. My arrival was delayed by 48 hours due to airline issues. The staff rebooked my room without penalty or complaint. The shuttle was there at 1am to pick me up and my room was available the moment I checked in. The room itself was large, and exceptionally well equipped with kitchen and living area (see photo). The hotel is centrally located for all of Koror's amenities, yet situated away from the main road in a quiet side street. Best hotel I stayed in on a 10 day trip from Honolulu to Palau via Marshall Islands, Micronesia and Guam.

The place is very clean and cozy. The staff was very friendly and nice. They remembered all the details about our stay (e.g., which flight we took after our stay and our special meal request) and tried to accommodate us from the moment we arrived. Highly recommended!

The location in the center of Koror was convenient to shops, grocery stores and restaurants. The dense area next door was full of tropical plants including banana trees. The breakfast included eggs to order and fresh fruit and breads. Very spacious room with sitting area, balcony overlooking garden, and small kitchen with everything needed and super clean. We stayed 12 nights while scuba diving and will stay there again on our next trip.

United StatesThe Garden Palace is exceptionally comfortable and well run. The general manager, Oya, and his assistant, Udin, both live on-site. They are very service oriented. Any concerns, no matter how minor, brought to their attention are addressed immediately. Our room was huge with two large beds, a sitting area with comfortable chairs, and a nicely equipped kitchenette area. The room is thoughtfully furnished with anything one might need for an extended stay. There is abundant work surface space, drawers, shelves and closet space. The large beds are very comfortable, the A/C works great, and the internet is fast and 95% reliable, which we thought was quite good for such a small, remote country. The top floor of the hotel is a large open air (but covered) lounge area where breakfast is served. The breakfast is not fancy but is more than adequate. We made frequent use of the lounge area amenities including a hot and cold water dispenser, a mini freezer stocked with fresh ice and a free spin dryer. There is also a dedicated area for cleaning and drying dive gear. We took advance of the wash, dry and fold laundry service for $5 per basket. The hotel is located in the center of downtown. That was a plus for us as there are two larger supermarkets and many restaurants within a 5 minute walk. We booked the Garden Palace because it has the highest rated reviews (by a good margin) in Palau on Booking.com. After staying at the Garden Palace for 10 days, we understand why the reviews are so good.

United StatesThe A/C was adequate and kept us cool but it was struggling. The Wi-Fi was not that reliable but that might be something that happens island wide.
Located in the main town Koror, it is close to shopping and restaurants. It is about a 30-40 minute walk down to the island of Malakal where some of the main dive shops are. We got a free transfer to and from the airport even though our flight out was at 2am. Great breakfast, free filtered water, beach towels and umbrellas. The staff is super helpful and even helped arrange a rental car for us (delivered and picked up ) for the day

GuamI guess the biggest issue is no elevator. But it didn’t bother us, we like the stairs and they had a lift for large luggage.
Clean. Helpful staff. Kitchenette. Good location in Koror. Good breakfast with nice roof-top view.

GermanyThe breakfast was just a already prepared tray with a cold hashbrown, cold scrambled egg and sausage with a very tiny piece of cheese- you had to ask the staff, to reheat it at least in the microwave
The room was a fully fledged apartment with kitchen, seating area etc.

United StatesThe only issue we had was the stairs being a bit steep for my elderly Dad.
We couldn’t been happier to call this home for almost three weeks. It really became our home away from home. The staff communicated efficiently to arrange for airport pickup and greeted us upon arrival despite a long wait at the airport. They even kindly offered to get a cake for my son’s birthday the day after we arrived to help us celebrate it. The owner and staff were so kind throughout our entire stay. They helped us with every request, folded and washed our clothes promptly, made nutritious breakfast, cleaned the rooms well, provided beach towels and treated us as family. We made some forever memories here and great friends! Thank you so much for accommodating us! We really appreciate Kate it!

MexicoSmall things like would be nice to have an option of herbal teas for non-caffeine drinkers. Some may want a pool or more buffet breakfast options but I don't think any of that took away from the beauty and grace of the place.
Highly recommend this place, I felt so at home, the staff were super friendly and welcoming, the rooms are so nicely designed, I travel a lot and this may be one of my favorite room setups I have stayed in. I loved it, there is even a kitchenette you can make your own food, the view is incredible.

PortugalBreakfast choice was very limited and always the same everyday, it was not a buffet. The hotel had no pool, the only common space was the top floor where breakfast took place. The price was too high for the offer but prices are very high in Palau and in relation to the touristic offer.
The hotel is centraly located in Koror and the room was very big, actually a studio with equipped kitchenette. The owner and team were very helpful to book tours and taxi. A transfer to airport was included. Internet worked pretty well.

United StatesIt was a bit expensive. I wanted a half day rate since I was flying at night and that was offered, but only until 6. I wish there was a pool. The worse thing was that there was no wifi in the common area on the roof (where breakfast was served and could be used for lounging, but I couldn't skype my kids from that space so brought down the breakfast tray each day to my room)
I loved that it had a clothing rack and fan and well-stocked kitchenette and two chairs and a coffee table for a living room element in addition to the very comfortable beds. It was a nice size, with a balcony. Great attention to detail and decoration. I had to dry scuba gear and used the laundry equipment well instead of packing wet gear. Breakfast was lovely too with eggs instead of Chinese style dinner food. Very nice hotel.

I stayed at Garden Palace for two weeks during a work trip to Palau. It was spacious, clean, overlooking a green area. Away from the traffic / noise of the main street but close enough for easy access of restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy etc. The owner and his staff were great, paid attention to detail and always available to help. The laundry service was at a reasonable rate and much appreciated during my long trip. A good breakfast was served on the roof terrace every morning and we were able to use the terrace for work meetings. There is an area to rinse and dry diving equipment although I did not use this myself. Overall a great stay!

The staff are so kind and helpful! Thank you so so so much for letting us check out late! Really appreciate!!
