The stairs between each floor! Would not be suitable for those with mobility issues with steps.

Great location in a quiet street and excellent for all the restaurants, cafes, shops and the seafront! Really nice roof top kitchen and terrace very well equipped and clean!

I booked a private room with a balcony to the sea and when I arrived I was told that I’m gonna stay in the studio in front of the street. I understand that for some this might be an upgrade but lots of space yet a bedroom without windows is not something I enjoy and I looked specifically for a balcony and light in bedroom so it wasn’t a nice surprise. Anyways it’s was clean and worked for one night stay.

The central location and the accessible rooftop terrace was great, housing clean and hosts were kind.

As with any period property my room was not blessed with ensuite and it was down a couple of flights of stairs, I think that 'bathroom' was specifically allocated. The stairs also make it impractical for anyone with mobility issues... I am 73 but it was very OK for me!

My room, booked as a basic stay without breakfast included, exceeded my expectations. The hosts Rosie and Gino were very friendly, Gino enjoyed telling their guests about their journey and Rosie made a brilliant hostess her cooking skills were awesome she clearly in my opinion enjoyed doing it. I cannot remember the ladies name, perhaps Jenny, that helps to run their empire but she got about her business in a very organised and smiley manner... This particular house was perfectly located in the 'old town' a tiny looking outside opened up into a delightful Tardis of a place inside. Gino from Belgium and Rosie and her very engaging smile a native of Portugal their son already despite his relatively young age clearly full of life... I ate out quite close in the evening in a very good restaurant, and before and after my 'free' breakfast enjoyed Olhao much more than I had anticipated, the walk to and from the train about an unhurried 10mins...

The stairs to my room are very steep and very narrow, nothing they can do about this as it's a very traditional home. If you struggle with stairs then just take this into consideration. The room would benefit from a self in the shower and hook for towels, again nothing major just a suggestion.

The hosts are lovely easy going warm and inviting people. The location is great as is the roof top selenium with sea view and very comfy seating/lounging. Room was beautiful. Bed was comfy on the softer side.

The emplacement is super, the guest house is beautifull , especially the rooftop, the room is very comfortable . Rose is a very kind guest, always smiling . The breakfast she makes is délicious and healthy. Thank you so much Rose we had a great time at your place.

Beautiful house hidden in the small streets of Olhao, amazing panoramic view from the roof terrace with cosy chairs, where I enjoyed breakfast in the morning sun - after a sporty steep climb up the stairs. The room was beautiful, a combination of traditional and rustic elements with modern comfort. Gino and Rosi were so welcoming and went out of their way to make everything great. The breakfast was amazing! Nice kitchen to prepare coffee or something to eat. The location was perfect, a short walk to the market, the Ria Formosa, and the harbour to go to the Islands.

Would suggest that a door to the bathroom be added. Sea views are not from first floor balcony but from the roof. For the record some local taxes for Olhão Municipality are collected by the owner on site. This was unexpected but better to be aware.

Quirky and nicely updated fisherman’s home very close to the markets, shops and shoreline of the Ria Formosa. Very nice owners, Rose and Gino. Comfortable room with bathroom and balcony. Good and filling breakfast freshly prepared by Rose each morning. Lovely to chat to other guests at breakfast. Magnificent views of the sea from the rooftop.

The downside of such quaintness is the parking. Basically find a space and leave until departure! Which did make several trips back and forwards to unload luggage. Up side everything is close by. For those not as fit as we would wish, there is no lift.

Location was in the old part of Olhao. Narrow cobbled streets, old fishermen cottages that are biggthan appear. Very quiet and peaceful. Our welcome by Rose was very warm and welcoming. Very helpful with local knowledge. Breakfast plentiful and the traditional Christmas bread/cake an added treat. We were lucky to have the top floor room with a wonderful balcony, bit chily at Christmas though. Shared use of the Kitchen was a bonus.
