The pictures of the pool area are misleading. The deck is way past it's prime and quite dangerous to walk around. High chance of getting a splinter or tripping. Do not take your flip flops off.

I was disappointed there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room and the mini-bar was empty. I also found most of the toiletries missing from the bathroom. As a walker trying to stay close to Arrifana this hotel didn't really work for me, but for those travelling with a car, the location would be alright.

My room was large, very comfortable with elegant furnishings. I had a warm greeting at reception, where I was able to book my breakfast slot. Arriving late and leaving early the following day, I didn't get the chance to explore the facilities on offer, which was a shame.

It's a little run down, but for what we paid, that doesn't really matter. It feels clean and tidy, which matters more.

Unfortunately, the outdoor area around the pool has aged quite a bit and is not very well maintained. The pictures do not reflect reality.

We had a comfortable and spacious ground floor room with a bathroom overlooking the lawn area. The hotel had a very sensible system for breakfast time which required you to choose an hour when you would like to eat. The dining area was not large, so this made perfect sense. The breakfast food was of very good quality and included local preserves/jams. The staff were lovely. The swimming pool area was also very spacious with lots of sun beds. The hotel was not all all noisy. This could have been because a lot of the clientele were walkers who probably wanted a good night's sleep themselves.

This Hotel carries 2 stars. We believe it is underrated as it is providing a 4 star service. So much better than the last place we stayed at on this trip which was supposedly 4 star ( In Mustique ). I recommend Hotel VDT which is extremely good value and made us feel very comfortable with excellent breakfasts and efficient and pleasant service throughout.

The minibar in our bedroom did not work. The solution we were offered was to store our goods in their kitchen refrigerator. This was not very convenient for us. We would have preferred a change of minibar to one that worked. The staff at the front desk were mostly friendly. How, there was a lady (who seemed to be the manager or supervisor) who had a very cold and distant attitude, which made one feel not very welcome whenever you crossed ways with her. On our third day, our room was not cleaned. When we arrived at 5p.m. nobody hade clead or serviced our bedroom. We came to the hotel to rest in the afternoon, which was hard to do, as the cleaning staff were still working on some rooms with the vacuum cleaner. All in all, the stay was OK, but we do not think it was good value for money. We would have expected better conditions given what was paid.
